Even Jesus was left alone

Andrew barely remembers anything about his past other then his name, some traces of habits and preferences, and his faith.

Faith.
That's a strong word for people who don't have much to their name, who don't have prosperity.
It's one of the words that's used so closely with hope.
When Andrew was approached by that horrific looking skeleton, he only obliged in a desperate way of escaping that creature.
He knew from his words that he had lost things he wished he could remember, and even now..
it ate at him.
This only made him hold what he had ever more dearly, like prayer beads gripped in the hand of a fervent believer.

Once he was free to go, he explored the misty miasma ridden forests of the spirit Chateaus, both as part of his conscription dictated, but also to understand and be understood in a realm where chaos seemed resolute.
He asked around the ritualists, monks and priests—these being of a belief called 'shinto' apparently-of what was believed and held dear here.

This was a place of spirits, the undead and even demons, and even more, or worse then that.
Surprisingly, he found out he was not alone in his faith, many descendants and ancestor spirits amongst this land were converts thanks to the efforts of Date Masamune or Otomo Sorin, at least that's what he discerned from what he was told.
With this info, he tried seeking out a refuge amongst more charitable types, finding it amongst the dwellers of the forest who had created homes to continue their duties of sanctifying shrines and maintaining temples.

Andrew, being a man of only his convictions with little else to hold, was able to convince a small few to journey out with him to establish a new home for exclusively those who held this faith.
Armed with the manifested implements that skeleton had permitted him (the idea he would even need them filled him with dread; what was out there that such tools would be needed?) and a blade gifted to him out of charity and well wishes on his travels, Andrew set out along the paths of the misty lands.

It took him days with the small gathering he had accrued, advising him on what paths were safe and which ones led to "Orochi's spines" as the locals called it.
But eventually the fog subsided, and amongst themselves they found a bright sun, green fauna and hope.
Andrew from this point out found a new resolution for himself.
He would bring this feeling to as many as he could, with the ideals that he knew, the only ones he knew.

And seemingly the only ones he could know.
He would feed the hungry, help the sick, protect the meek and the weak, and save as many souls as he can.
If demons did in fact walk this earth-if one could call this place earth-then he would vanquish them, excise them from the land and let the children of God inherit it.
Jesus willing, he would accomplish this goal.

Christ's Blade/Blades of Christ

Andrew and his group eventually did find a place amongst the Spines, an abandoned temple, overgrown with moss, supported by what was called 'kakezukuri' pillars.
From this the would-be priest would build his church, though it would take weeks.
It was arduous, but even so he would not give up on his vision, his one driving force.
The temple was cleaned and repaired as best as Andrew and his small contingent could do so, but it wasn't nearly enough.
If the elements were any indication, they would need firewood and supplies.
He allowed his minute amount of followers to stay amongst the derelict, to travel about the Spines seeking out aid or anyone who needed it themselves.

He found several, as despite how long or old this realm was, the vagabonds and destitute was something that was seemingly universal.
He guided them back to the temple with offers of shelter and safety, even ones that somewhat disturbed him like the undead.
This took many days though using the values of goodwill and altruism, Andrew's small gathering has formed into a small community.
Proper lumber and foraging, tilling of the land and shelters were built.
Safety was provided and commodities shared;
but something was missing, and Andrew noticed soon.

One morning he gathered his small commune into the temple, and began espousing the ideals and virtues that so far, they amongst him practiced.
But Andrew reminded those present that this should be what is done naturally, not because it's expected.
He then continued by speaking paraphrased scripture, a more philosophical and worldly aspect to his preaching, explaining how the isolation and alienation his fellow Christians experienced was not new, nor was it something exceptional; they had always been under attack, they will continue to be under attack.
The children of God had to act accordingly, both in spirit and upon this land.

Thus he requested that walls be erected, gates be built and the people go out and find others who would wish to be here; ancestors, family, friends.
Anyone who wished to find safety who could also be taught the good word.
Thus, the following days saw the numbers swell, the temple be repaired and homes along the hill sprawl further then even Andrew would have expected.
It seemed, despite how alien he felt in this reality, there was others who wish to be sought and saved.
To feel safe, to be protected and to be amongst those who cared.

Andrew didn't understand the body he was given nor the skills he was capable of, but he practiced his preaching just as much learning of the sword amongst his people.
Music was made from the pipe organ using the water well he had blessed, chants were normalized and crosses painted amongst the many trees and homes.
Campfires glowed in the night like the stars above, and militia amongst the congregation watched with purpose and obligation to the forests and horizons, taught and mustered by vote and committee.

Andrew was no leader, no warrior and no true ordained missionary; but he would try.
He could never repay these people for how much they were willing to do and permit on faith alone, but he would try.
He would try to save them all.
That was Jesus had intended, what the lord God in heaven commanded.
He would become that for his people, all these things.
For their sakes and his own.
