This will help your Odin 2 run emulators or apps that would normally crash due to lack of RAM. Big credits to flat_stick5801 for writing the scripts and instructions.

Instructions

Step 1 - Download the ZIP file bellow

MemorySwap-V2.zip

These contain the .sh files needed for this guide:

  • 2gbswap.sh will create a 2gb img file to be used as the swap on your internal memory.
  • 4gbswap.sh will create a 4gb img file to be used as the swap on your internal memory.
  • 6gbswap.sh will create a 6gb img file to be used as the swap on your internal memory.
  • 8gbswap.sh will create a 8gb img file to be used as the swap on your internal memory.
  • enableswap.sh will enable the swap script you installed in your Odin 2
  • deleteswap.sh will delete the swap scripts you added to your Odin 2
  • DropCaches.sh purges the buffer and caches data in ram, and turns off and on the swap which deletes any swap links in ram.
Step 2 - Load the scripts
  1. Extract ZIP
  2. Go to Settings > Odin Settings > Run script as Root and choose between any of these 3 swap scripts in the ZIP folder:
    • 4gbswap.sh
    • 6gbswap.sh
    • 8gbswap.sh
Note: The screen will seen non-responsive after script loading completes.
Just press B / Back and you should be able to navigate the menu again.
  3. After loading the script, run enableswap.sh next.
    • If it routinely gets hung up on enabling swap, wait 2 minutes and it is still stuck exit and reboot. The script has to write the file to the system, hence it takes a bit of time.
  4. And you are done!

Note:

The Memory Swap will be enabled until you reboot your Odin 2. After each reboot run enableswap.sh, and it will activate the swap file made from the first use.

Extra notes:

Delete Swap
  • If you want to delete the swap file from internal storage, reboot to deactivate swap then run deleteswap.sh
