A Scene from the Dilupakan Frontier: 1128 VTE

The Dilupakan-Koboniggera Frontier, 40 km south from the "city" of Elatiora, March 4th 1128 VTE

250 Pomeranian Mercenaries under Captain Friederich von Zollern are responding to a reported Kobonesi raid within their vicinity. Zollern is a veteran of the Pomeranian War and has fought against the Kobonesi numerous times before. The key to any battle against these barbarians is firm discipline, firepower and situational awareness, all of which Zollern and his men have. As they steadily march forward, Zollern spots the Kobonesi in the distance and orders "HALT!". He surveys the land before him, nearly 1,000 of the shiteaters are raiding nearby farmsteads. "Heh, just as expected Hans, let's get their attention and send them all to hell." he marks to his second in command. But the arrogant Pomeranian did not realize he was facing a force not of 1,000 but of 5,000.

He orders the trumpeters to blast "Diamond City Lights" and sure enough that caught their attention. Like wild animals, the Kobonesi began to stream towards Zollern's men, whom he orders into a tight formation. At 80 paces, the Pomeranians opened up on the mob with great effect, killing many and scattering many as well. But they keep on coming. Another volley, more killed but more just kept coming. The Kobonesi soon threw their spears into the Pomeranian ranks and charged. Brutal hand to hand fighting erupted than lasts for 20 minutes until the sheer number of the Kobonesi overwhelm the Pomeranians. Zollern is cut down, and the Pomeranians begin to flee; none of them survive the ordeal.

The Kobonesi, triumphant, begin to celebrate their victory over the Pomeranians by eating their own shit and smearing it all over themselves. They strip the Pomeranians of their clothes and run off back home, in celebration of their triumph. The brutality of the Dilupakan Frontier had claimed the lives of yet more Pomeranians, as it had the lives of other mercenaries before them. Such was the life of a mercenary on the frontier, where certain death seemed to await them.
