A Commentary of Sorts

Chapter 4

Since I have recently finished this chapter, I wanted to get my thoughts out quicker while they're relatively fresh in my head. So the big thing I included in this chapter was a branching path to read. I had spent some time reading the other fanfics in the archive to experience the storytelling of my other writers. I had seen some pieces that were a pick you own adventure type story and I thought, that's pretty cool, I want to do it too! And so did I set out to create a timeline "choice," to close out chapter 4. Another thing I had noticed, just by being in /∞/ is that people love...SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

The basis of chapter 4 is this simple scenario, nothing extreme like we had read about before. I wanted to clearly lay out the relationship between Amelia and Kronii. Another part of chapter 4 was introducing Hololive to the story. Since I had established Amelia knew her fellow Myth members and that council was already a thing I needed to keep actual continuity in mind and there comes in Hololive. I feel like it's important to keep to the continuity of events in a story about time. To introduce Hololive naturally, I felt like it was best to do it with a somewhat well known meme? I'm pretty sure Coco had showed this off on her meme review with Ame, back when they did it. I actually really liked the idea of Amelia being the one who sent Coco to Hololive. So I wrote it in as best as I could, I hope it doesn't stick out too much. I also wanted Kronii to appear to Ame as clearly a more...mature...level headed mentor while still trying to keep some of her awkward charm. I have Kronii teach Ame about various things of the world here that Ame had taken for granted in a way. Ame would now realize that she's a part of this...greater universal kind of being and she grows from it. Finally at the end, I let you pick your route, so to speak. Of course you can read both but I assume you went with your gut the first time and went where you wanted to go. I guess looking back on it now, the scenario isn't all that simple...

So of these two routes is a seiso side and a SEEEXXX side. For the seiso side, I wanted to keep the story in its...relative sort of...pureness. There wasn't really any sexy/sexual things up to this point, but I had alluded to some in earlier chapters. I really wanted to highlight the growing or perhaps even now complete background to Amelia and Kronii's relationship. I don't know if I'll do any more of these flashback type chapters, but I wanted to get it out there into my story. The two girls eventually fell in love. This relationship being the way it is will later lead to why Kronii is behaving the way she did in the beginning of the story as well as Ame breaking down in sadness, the "present timeline." As I had remarked in my first chapter's commentary, I dropped you right into the scene. There was no build up. Now that the setting has been established, I wanted to dive into the lore of the world and tell you why the situation is what it is. I don't know if this worked out or was particularly effective for my readers, but it felt good to me. I took heavy reference from the 8th Kara No Kyoukai movie. I couldn't imagine any other scene in my head. I wanted to paint a soft picture between these two girls. Kronii in the starting out in the mentor role and Ame the student. Kronii is now beginning to really...acknowledge Ame's talents. Her prowess as a detective and her growth as a person. For Ame, I wanted her to see Kronii as someone she can rely on, someone she can believe in and trust. As the two had grown closer and closer everyday, it reached a boiling point and Ame realizes that Kronii is no longer just her mentor. It might be cliche or too simple, but I think its ok to be cliche.

On the spicy side of things, I flip the pov again. I felt like Kronii's perpective needed to exist. So to be honest, this route's idea actually was inspired by a fellow /∞/ writer. Specifically, their now famous fanfic, Secret Crush, which you can check out at this link! https://rentry.org/54efk
I'm really glad I was in the thread when they had dropped this off on the anchor. I hope they liked the comment I had left them for both pieces they had dropped off that day. But... I love this piece, I really do. The scene that particularly entranced me was when Kronii had started freezing time to shower Fauna in her own type of love in an incredibly shy way. Fauna would think she felt the warmth of someone else but nobody was there. I really...just so love this idea. It's bittersweet, having your love in front of you but you're too shy to do anything so you literally freeze time to give her a hug. And then giving her that sort of ultimatum and they end, if she were to stop time again! <333333 I think everyone can relate to a time they wish they could've done that to a secret crush of their own. Thank you so much for inspiring me Nameronii. I hope I paid proper homage to your writing!

So I wanted to try this out for myself, which had also impacted upon my decision to make this route Kronii's pov. Much of my time writing this was trying to keep Kronii sort of...shy and nervous. I feel like in sexual situations, she'd either be all or nothing so I built up her from nothing. From her freaking out and nervousness in the beginning to biting the bullet and digging into Ame. I will note, I didn't want to make either girl a futa. No offense or anything futa fans, I just wanted to write girl on girl. I don't know if I did it well either. I tried to give it more emotion than I had in my one off futa fic. One of the comments I had read was that the receiver wasn't too emotional about what was going on. I hope that came across better here. After their scene of passion, I cool it off and have them awkwardly converse. I guess it just feels natural to me...take that for what you will Kronies.
