2434 timeline
Timeline:
June of 1096: Letter demanding the withdraw of pcg-aeg forces from voms is sent.
August of 1096: phase seize our assets we know by late october.
November of 1096: We declare war and spent rest of year preparing. Hire army of 45,000 Pomeranians and Dragoons.
Early March of 1097: 3 Fleets sets sail from Yamagata, Yokosuka, and Kure. Northern Fleet for the north coast, Centre Fleet for Antioch and Antigoneia, and South fleet for the southern ports in phase.
April: We receive word that the Hoshis are in the war, and half of the Western Fleet is to be mobilized. It will take them 4 months to prepare, arrive at Eastern Ports and get ready to set sail. Perhaps some delays happen and the rallying of actual land forces from the Shoguns to this that could make it 6 months. By this time, the poor sailing weather of the heavenly sea during this time of the year (typhoons) would prevent us from even sailing in force. Likely, the main Western fleet waits until March when Typhoon season is over to set sail in force. Likely, a squadron would risk it during September or October if situation is dire.
NORTH:
CENTRE:
1097
Mid-May: We take the Island of Antipatros and fight a massive naval battle against Phase, which we win. Word reaches the main fleet, which sends half of vessels north.
July: Take Tsoumala peninsula, Lekapenos, and Kallipolis. Small sea battle between the tiny squadron at Kallipolis. Digs in and awaits more supplies and reinforcements for upcoming campaign next year, which aims to capture Adramyttion and Thebae by land and Hyspiratis and Philippeia by sea. 30,000 of the mercs here.
August: City of Illion taken. Smalls battles occur rest of year.
1098:
March: 10,000 Reinforcements arrive and many supplies. Campaign towards Adramyttion commenced as is the sea campaign
April: Hyspiratis captured, moves on Philippeia prepared.
Mid May: Word reaches of disaster in South, Centre Fleet sends the bulk of its forces to counter the Hoshi threat. Adramyttion and Philippeia captured.
Late May: Word reaches Philippeia about the disaster and it is abandoned along with Hyspiratis.
Mid-June: Major battle near Thebae, narrow victory. City is taken and the army rests for a few months before its next objective, Himara is revealed. This plan is abandoned before it can begin given the arrival of the Western Field Army at Mylasa.
September: Smaller force takes Nikopolis, effectively linking the centre and southern armies.
Plan for next year is to use the naval forces to capture Philippeia and Hyspiratis again while pcg is suffering from the pretenders that arose in the last part of the year.
1099:
January: Philippos III is killed in battle by Georgios Synadenos near Aphrodisias.
April: Antioch is taken by Georgios, now Georgios II.
May: Hyspiratis, moves on Philippeia prepared.
June: Defection of the Thematic Army of Exoginikon under their leader Ioannes Euphorbenos to 2434.
July: Mylasa is captured and Thermae too. Army is rerouted to Exoginikon and arrives in November
August: Georgios advances on Andronikos Doukas commander of the Modiste Theme, who has the support of the Thematic armies of Kamarieraion, Rompotos and Lagoseia. Georgios Is defeated at Tzimisica by them.
October: Exoginikon Thematic Army meets with Georgios at Kaisereia, Ioannes defeated and withdraws.
November: Another battle near Kaisereia, this time with Georgios and Andronikos. Georgios defeated and killed by his own men, who are go on to join Ioannes and the 2434 army. Andronikos crowned as Andronikos I in Antioch.
1100:
March: Coalition army defeats Andronikos outside of Antioch. He flees into the city and is tore to pieces for his wickedness. Ioannes Euphorbenos enters the city and is crowned Emperor and declares an armistice.
April: The commander of the Theme of Loumikon, Theophilos Katakalon rallies the Themes of Amareis, and Lagoseia. He defeats the Aetherian Army in June and declares himself Emperor.
SOUTH:
Early June: Arrive and take some island as usual. Fight another battle maybe at sea. word reaches them, so they send more vessels centre.
Late July: Take city of Zakynthos and Chandax. 10,000 mercs in south.
Late August: Take city of Tyraion. Dig in and wait for reinforcements and supplies. Campaign next year is to take Kassandreia, Edessa and Sebasteia and/or Kalamata if possible.
1098:
Mid-April: Hoshi squadron catches weakened Southern fleet completely off guard, defeats it, and sends it fleeing back to the Centre. The 20,000 Reinforcements are forced to be landed at Tyraion with the supplies, leaving Zakynthos and Chandax vulnerable.
May: Chandax and Zykanthos sieged by local forces.
Late-May: Sebasteia falls without resistance, army begins to march to Zakynthos.
July: Chandax falls, Zykanthos is barely holding on when the Centre fleet arrives and forces the Hoshi fleet back to Kassandreia. Siege of Zakynthos lifted by the land-sea forces and a battle there.
August: Chandax taken back. Conservative Naval leaderships decides to call it a year and does not press towards Kassandreia despite advantage.
September: Kalamata taken.
October: Hoshi reinforcements in the South.
Plan for next year is the expulsion of the Hoshis from the South and the taking of Amphissa, Aigialos, Edessa and Kassandreia.
1099:
March to June: Inconclusive Naval Battles prevent Kassandreia from being taken. Different strategy is adopted, which is raiding. This is effective.
May: Amphissa is taken
July: Aigailos is under threat from 2434, Thematic Commander of Regalion defects to 2434 instead of bringing destruction.
September: Hoshiyomi Fleet, realizing their precarious situation with Edessa under threat, decides to withdraw.
October and November, Kassandereia and Edessa taken. War in the South ends.
Questions to be raised:
What leaves /aeg/ in tatters like no other nation post war? Is it the undeclared war in that continues to happen or is the events during the war? Is it the fight for succession after the war? Raids? Lack of Money? Perhaps being punished in the treaty too?
What happens to the pcg-aeg fleet? Is it given to voms or at least some of it? Is it given to RR and 2434 as war comp?
Basic ideas for treaty:
Voms gains territory and the pcg-aeg fleet, and money.
774 gains territory and money. maybe an exclave port.
Hoshi: status quo ante bellum. perhaps right over some island somewhere is acknowledged.
RR: artifacts, and more. perhaps a port or island.
2434: Tsoumala, Antipatros, and something else, maybe another island. money
aeg: loses lumi and yuri lands. clause about never being able to unify with pcg.
pcg: loses what is mentioned. arms restrictions and peace council established.
Weighing the allies, from what is seen, 2434 and voms are the ones who would have the most say given their efforts. I don't know about RR but 774 has made it clear that they weren't or near that level. Hoshis didn't "lose" but certainly didn't achieve their objectives. aeg and pcg were defeated, hard to judge aeg considering the change in government post war.
