Magia Exedra Beginner's Guide and FAQ (WIP).

I’m region locked and/or I want to play JP

1. Download a VPN
2. Open the VPN and connect to US or JP
3. Delete the cache and storage from Google Play Store
4. Open the play store and create a new account for US or JP
5. In the new account search Magia Exedra and install it
6. Repeat the process if you want to have both the Global/JP app.
7. Because you’re region locked/want to play JP you need to have the VPN on while playing.

How to play on PC?

There’s 3 methods: Mumu, WSA, and Scrcpy.

Mumu (Recommended)

Mumu is the only working emulator at the moment.
It runs the game at 1080p 60fps without specific crashing nor graphical glitches.

Windows Subsystem For Android (WSA) (Not Recommended)

For some users WSA performs better on their machine.
WSA is prone to crashing and graphical glitches.
Please note that you will crash at the tutorial on 1-2 and some other stages
You must progress past that point on phone/Mumu and login back on WSA to proceed past the crash.

1. Go here and read:

2. Click the link to LTS 6 for Windows 10/11
3. Scroll down to assets and click the link that includes “-with-KernelSU”
4. Extract the contents to your main drive, e.g. C:\WSA. (Use 7zip to extract or you’ll get an error)
   (You cannot move this folder later, which is why the root directory is recommended over the Downloads folder.)
5. Once extracted, locate “Run.bat” and run it and follow the instructions. (Make sure your system account has Administration rights!)
6. You’re done (you may be prompted to restart)
7. Run “Windows Subsystem for Android” to open it.
8. Install Magia Exedra from the Play Store

Scrcpy

If you’re on phone you can mirror your phone to PC via wireless debugging with “scrcpy”

(Having USB debugging enabled will make the game repeatedly close.
That’s why you have to use wireless).

What regions are available?

What VPN should I use?

Mullvad is probably the best (Costs money)
Tunnelbear is free and works but has a data-cap.
Proton VPN has no data-cap but can’t connect to JP w/ the free ver.
VPN Gate apparently has no data-cap and can connect to both US and JP.

Game can’t open? It closes on launch?

If you're using MuMu try switching renderers (DirectX works better on older cards).
Make sure USB debugging is off.
Sometimes, upon opening WSA, USB debugging may turn itself back on.
Just turn it off again before opening the game.

What settings should I use for MuMu?

If you have a much newer GPU try using Vulkan.
If your GPU is somewhat older DirectX will probably work best.
(DirectX works better on older cards).
As for everything else adjust the settings depending on your specs.

I keep getting a connection error?

If you’re region locked/playing the JP ver. make sure your VPN is turned on and connected.
If you’re on PC (MuMu) make sure the VPN you're using is from the Google Play Store not your desktop app version.

Do other Android Emulators work?

No. Mumu is currently the only working emulator.

Mumu isn't starting the game for me? It gives me a black screen?

Try to increase ram usage.
Check if hyper v turned on (if yes, turn it off).
Reduce resolution if needed.
Sometimes, upon first booting up, you'll need to wait a bit.
Try waiting ~1-2 mins and see it it launches.

WSA isn't showing up on my main user account—what's going on?

WSA installs only for the user who runs the Install script.
If you install it from a different (admin) account, it won’t appear for your regular user.
To fix, temporarily make your main account an admin, run the install, then revert it if needed.

How do I reroll?

Go into the Settings menu and use the Delete Account option.
You won't be able to recover the account with a transfer ID, but you can choose to skip the tutorial when you start the game again.

Aim for your favorite Megucas!

How do I spend money?

Visit the Web Shop at Magia Exedra’s website.
Spending money at the Web Shop yields more gems compared to Google Play/App Store microtransactions.
