The myth of how the first humans created include a few key characters, amongst which a snake that tempted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit exists. The word "Nachash" comes from Hebrew word for snake (Nāḥāš) and is heavily associated with divination and even identify the serpent from Bible as such. For his sins, God cursed him to walk on his belly and eat dust, which is an accurate representation of a today's snake.

This event could be considered on how the snake was humbled in retrospective with the demon world, being banished to the status of "human". The title of "Nachash" is a variable of a bigger equation and was never planned by Karlheinz initially since he have foreseen the most productive outcomes with his own current variables (Eve and Adam).

The role of "Nachash" is volatile meaning anyone can occupy it if they fulfill the condition of human type. In the past, few humans remarked themselves to raise as the "Serpent". As the Serpent, the wielder has the reign over the Eden Castle until the prophecy to create a new race with demonic abilities of the First Blood but human lifespan. The Serpent is not a fool though, if Adam refuses to kill the Vampire King (since that's his last wish so he could transfer his power towards Adam), the snake will gains his power and continue his will.
The humans designated as possible candidates gain this status through Dania, the Progenitor God or descendant of the oldest demons. She can turn into a serpent and bite them, turning them into adjacent-demonic Adler familiars.
The current human who is designated as "Nachash" is Asmodeus Ananke. The reasoning is a bit silly but plays into the etymology of his names. "Asmodeus" is the namesake of the demon of lust and temptation, akin to the serpent that tempted Eve and Adam. His firstname, "Ananke", is the Greek personification of fate and inevitability. Ananke is often depicted as a serpent goddess. Additionally, he tends to a garden.
