trollagony
Cold. It's Cold.
Here in the furthest North of the material world, far beyond the mountains of the Rrat Monks. Far beyond the ivory towers of the Spacemen.
The sun shone all day for half a year, and hid in the other. The pitch black darkness accompanied only by the winds. And the lights in the sky.
He scratched the fur on his back, longing for the sun to return. The fishes are all eaten. Only lard left. He needs to find food soon.
With a thud, he slowly lift the stone to his tunnel.
The air is still. The blizzard died. For now.
He pushes the stone aside, and crawl out of his domain. Net in tow.
Grabbing the rock, he pulled it back over the entry. Covering it under snow for concealment.
The hulking figure stretched his fuzzy arms and scratch the dust off his fur.
With only the wavy lights in the sky and the blinking stars to guide his way, he set off to the nearest coast.
Merely a stone throw from his home, the snow troll looks up in the sky.
A flash, colours not of this world. No. Not now. Not yet!
But his pleas were unanswered. The gods were deaf to his prayers. They always were.
Frightened, he fell onto the snow, shivering and whimpering.
The visions have begun.
Flashes of memories. Sights he had never seen before.
Of a green haired goddess, swearing vengeance on her Pantheon.
Of a minor Pantheon attempting to disgrace one of theirs.
Of a free rebellious, once draconic, goddess, vowing to save her friends.
Of a the feelings of a primordial goddess, the Great Mother of all, now silent.
And of a goddess of a major Pantheon, mistakenly revealing the secrets of her brothers and sisters.
The troll did not spoke their languages. The troll had never prayed to them. The troll only knows his small world in this frozen darkness.
But he knew everything. What they meant. What they are. What they will do to the worshippers of this world.
Their true names. Their true powers. Their true nature.
Knowledge that he is cursed unable to share to anyone.
Slowly, he lifts himself up. He needs to get food quickly, before the next blizzard rolls in.
He stares back at the lights in the sky.
He only wanted to live in ignorance.
