Appearance

• Height 3’10” to 4’4” for adults
• Shrimp-human hybrid

• Appearance is slightly different based on location
  • Like turtles and tortoises. Very similar but adapted to their environments e.g. turtles have flatter shells and flippers for better swimming
    • Shrimps on land are bigger and shrimps underwater are smoother

• Both underwater and on land

    • Live near water (lakes, rivers, etc)
    • Open to the rest of the world

    • Live at varying depths based on their worldviews
      • Shrimps in the deepest parts worship only Gura
        • They get more tolerant the closer they get to land
          • For example shrimps that only watch other Vtubers when they collab with Gura would live closer to the bottom than shrimps who consistently watch other Vtubers
    • Don't care about anyone else and stay isolated

Technology

• Not incredibly advanced
  • Limited by lack of fingers
  • Water is bad for any electricity or metals

Society

• Society is built around religion
  • Every aspect of life relates to Gura in some way
  • A shrimps reason for living is to love Gura the most
• Discussion and worship of other Vtubers isn’t banned but some groups disapprove of it
• People split up based on views
  • This split happened many years ago, in the time since then the shrimps have adapted to their environments
  • Under The Sea Shrimp (UTSS)* worship only Gura
  • On The Land Shrimp (OTLS)* allow worship of anyone in addition to Gura
  • An uneasy peace, small skirmishes happen often and occasionally large fights break out
    • Recent example: The Rindo Civil War and /ryg/ split

Religion

• Extremely religious
• Sharks are revered and considered holy creatures
• Gura is the main deity
• Gura cute is a prayer offered at shrines and temples
• Denominations can have smaller deities (other oshis)
  • Mainly OTLS who worship other deities
• Life’s purpose is to be the Last Chumbud
  • The Last Chumbud is the last remaining Chumbud after all others have died or left.
    • Gura will return and take the Last Chumbud with her to marry and live with her forever
    • Gura will only take The Last Chumbud if they achieved the title through natural means
      • If a shrimp commits murder to become the Last Chumbud they will be taken by Gawr instead
        • Eternity with Gura is better than eternity with Gawr so most shrimps refuse to harm others
• Gawr is Gura's opposite but still respected the same
  • Major tragic events are attributed to Gawr
  • Gawr is depicted as more bratty and impulsive, doing whatever she wants regardless of the consequences
  • A very small number like Gawr more than Gura and are willing to commit murder to be with her forever

Architecture

• Looks like Ancient Greece
• Buildings are made of coral
  • Process of building
    • A frame of the building is put up. Coral polyps are placed on the frame and fed. After a few months the coral will have fully grown and the building is complete
  • Advantages of coral
    • Coral grows by itself and will perform self-maintenance
    • Protects against waves and currents
    • Won’t erode the way rocks will

Misc Terms and Culture

• Shark attacks are rare but if they happen the shark is not allowed to be killed
  • Sharks can still be fought off as long as they aren't killed
  • It is believed that Gawr is responsible for shark attacks
  • She uses sharks to punish shrimps who commit crimes
  • In the event that an innocent shrimp is attacked by a shark it is assumed Gawr was bored and did it for her own amusement
• Because of the frequent schizos most shrimps will assume anyone who criticizes Gura is just trying to cause trouble
  • This leads to many arguments over minor things
• Both UTSS and OTLS are on good terms with Watamates (theres one sheep poster who shows up from time to time and says nice things. He's cool)
