Tokitoki Channel ch11: We Tried Completely Destroying the Subscriber Count (1)
p1
Tatara-san broke the subscriber count.
Oh dear~
This is a problem.Tokitoki Channel
+nu=E100(.'.^2000)A! subscribersWait, hold on. Doesn't this look familiar?
That "+nu" on the head.
Nu? Nu~...
Nu!?
p3
Hey there~
This is Totoki Sakura from Tokitoki Channel~
Someone's lively today.
Did something good happen?
It did!
Some of you may know this already,
but after our last stream, someone wrote an article about us!New streamers you should take note of ranking
No. 2 Tokitoki Channel
Right now... We have 420 subscribers!
Four twenty!
p4
Guess it went a little viral, huh?
That's suddenly 300 more than the 100 we had last time!
To the one who wrote that article, thank you so much.
And a thank you to you listerners for always supporting us.
Congrats!
You did it!
Tatara-san!
Aren't you done yet!?
Yeah...
p5
Did you read the article I sent you?
I'm Tatara Miki...
She half-asleep?
Look at that bedhair
Yeah, I'm guessing she didn't read it,
so we may as well all read it together.
Tada!
We got a lot of praise and got 2nd place!
I wish we had gotten first,
but it's still amazing!
Don't they just think it's some amazing video technology?
That part frustrates me, but it can't be helped.
p6
What are you fidgeting about? Can't keep calm?
No, it's this hair.
Ah, your bedhair? Put your arms down and I'll fix it for you.
Sorry for the unsightly view, chat.
We're doing this on stream?
It's like monkey grooming
Wtf am I even looking at?
That's enough.
Enough, I said.
You're embarrassing me.
p7
Well it's good to know you have some sense of shame at least, Tatara-san.
You thought I didn't?
What was I talking about again...? Ah, that's right.
What we'll be doing today.
Endurance Stream!! No Ending Until We Hit 500 Subscribers!!!!!!!
Isn't that like 80 people? That won't take long.
You underestimate subscribers.
The subscriber boost we got from that article was just a bonus time. To get people to subscribe mid-stream, we need to show our stuff. Besides, most of the people watching right now are already subscribed.
It's scary how quickly you're suddenly talking...
p8
Okay, got the text on screen!
As for what we'll be doing to grab your attention,
Endurance stream: No ending until we hit 500 subscribers
I won't be leaving Tatara-san's room until we hit 500 subs!
Huh?
I want more people to take notice of Tatara-san.
Isn't this you're stream...?
Maybe you've forgotten,
but I started streaming so we could cover our living expenses.
...
The channel's concept is "Showcasing Tatara-san's Research and Inventions".
p9
Is it me, or is it messier than last time?
It's pretty bad, huh?
I have a system.
p10
Well, go on ahead!
Do something interesting.
That's the worse bluff ever.
Eh? You're serious?
Just kidding.
Let's see, how to gain more subscribers...
Is Ban-chan not here today?
She is! She's right here!
p11
This is our pet time,
Ban-chan the Bandersnatch.
We got 4 subs just from Ban-chan showing up!?
Wow!
Pet channels do tend to make numbers.
That so? Ban-chan has a pretty salty attitude, though.
Ah, but Tatara-san is popular for her bluntness too.
Oh, there's a question for you.
p12
I wouldn't call it a salty attitude
I love Tatara-san
How do you connect to that Internet 3 thing?"Internet 3" is
this higher dimensional particle network that Tatara-san often looks at.
For starters, "Internet 3"
isn't something humans can connect to or observe.
It's transmitting through a place far beyond what we can percieve, after all.
It can't be seen from four-dimensional space-time, which consists of length, width, height and time.
It's on a whole 'nother axis entirely.
p13
Then how do you know about its existence?
At first, it was a coincidence.
It all started when I built a quantum computer.
Here it is.
Eh? You mean that fridge?
Quantum bits need to be kept at extremely low temperatures,
so I remodelled this second-hand fridge.
All the duct tape just makes it look like oversized garbage.
p14
That's gotta cost a fortune in electric bills.
Okay, I'm not sure I can ignore this comment.
It generates its own power,
so it doesn't use up any of the house's usual electricity.
Getting back to the explanation,
I was experimenting with quantum transmissions
and made plans for quantum teleportation.
You remember the stuff about quantum entanglement, right?
Two objects can relay information with each other no matter how far apart they are.
That thing, right?
p15
I was experimenting by changing the information that was being shared.
It was then that information I hadn't send suddenly came flowing in.
I thought it was a bug, but my investigation proved otherwise.
I had apparently connected to an unknown network.
It really was by chance.
I think it was a set of commands that could request quantum keys and information from the network.
p16
Such a quantum network doesn't exist on Earth,
so it was clear this wasn't a network that could be used in this point of time.
From there, I tried many experiments to test the scope and specifics of the keys and commands.
Then when I give the quantum computer a whack, I get some kind of information once every few million times.
If it's not a human network,
then wouldn't you be unable to read anything you did get?
Most of it I can't read,
but quantum computers are at their best when deciphering codes,
so through trial and error, I was able to read fragments of it.
p17
That's a lot of work lol
That's pretty much illegal hacking
Did the subscriber count go down?
No, it went up. It's at 435 right now.
Why?
Surely that explanation just now made people unsubscribe.
There's nobody else who can read Internet 3, after all.
You look down on them.
Ah, it went down by one!
Oh, up by two!
Sure is busy, huh.
Yeah.
p18
Most of this stuff is your inventions, right, Tatara-san?
There's a lot of trash too.
Tell us about the good stuff.
Hmm.
How about this?
It's a lump of glass that's caved in at the top.
It's a little too big to be a chopstick rest.
p19
It's a cyborgification kit.
A tool that turns your body into a cyborg.
Eh, woah...! By cyborgs, you mean those humanoid robots, right!?
You're thinking of androids.
It's that thing where you have artificial replacements for bodily functions.
You mean I can use this to turn into a cyborg!?
*Image
You can't put yourself on it, so not likely.
p20
...What can you even put on something this size?
It worked on volvoxes and water fleas.
Microbes!?
...You've made water flea cyborgs?
I have.
Take a look.
I can't tell what's different.
It's their internal organs around here.
Not really worth watching.
Next!
p21
How about this then?
A hand grenade!
I guess it does kinda look like one.
Never mind kinda! It looks exactly like one!
Don't worry. It doesn't have any killing power.
What even is that!?
Something like a terraforming bomb.
So it is an explosive!
p22
By removing the pin and leaving it for a moment, it terraforms the area around it.
The fumes are something like insecticide.
Bal**n?
Terraforming = reforming into the Earth
It changes the atmosphere into something Earthlings can live on
Eh? That's amazing!
So it could let people live on the moon!?
The moon would be difficult.
The gravity is different and there's no atmosphere.
I guess you could use it on Mars.
That's still amazing!
p23
Well, this is small,
so the range of Earth-like atmosphere would be a few dozen meters at most.
It's be diluted by the surrounding environment in no time flat.
Ah, so you'd need a lot of them, huh.
You'd also need to increase the power too.
You'd need an extraordinary amount
I'm guessing you picked this up from Internet 3 too
Were there terraforming tools made with Earth technology to begin with?
An excellent question.
The original recipe was completely different.
It required an intensely hot environment consisting of vaporized iron and titanium.
p24
If I tried to replicate it on Earth, it'd result in a huge explosion.
Scary!
So it was originally an explosive after all...
Please don't fiddle with such scary things in the house.
It's fine.
I made a safe sandbox to fiddle with it in.
You sure about that?
p25
Are we at 500 yet?
It won't happen that quickly.
But we're at a good pace.
We're at 439 right now!
We might be able to reach it by morning!
It's gonna take that long...?
How long it takes is up to you, Tatara-san.
...
But it keeps going up and down in increments...
That's just the way it is.
p26
That's so sluggish.
I just need to get it over 500 subscribers, right?
Oh, someone sounds confident.
Of course! My original goal was 1000 after all.
Got it.
I have a few ideas on how to increase them quickly.
Let's give them a try.
Current subscriber count: 440
