What Are AI Mirror Pools And How To Use Them?
What exactly is a mirror pool?
- A mirror pool (or also called shared chat) is a type of proxy where users in mainland china can be able to use AI services such as ChatGPT or Claude where is banned in their country. It tries to emulate the original website of a specific AI service (e.g ChatGPT) and mirrors a specific account whether premium or not (most are premium). Some AI pools still required you to set your own 8 lettered password for the accounts on its specific session however other people can also able to login on the same account while they also have to set their own password as well where in conclusion different password but can access the same account.
How to access the mirror pools?
- Apparently some of the maintainers of these mirror pools somewhat blocked the access of these services outside mainland china but however you can able to use them with a VPN service by connecting to a Hong Kong server. This is why its it not loading properly and it redirects to new.oaifree.com and get stuck.
Where to find more of these mirror pools?
- Chinese forums such as linux.do has a couple of topics about mirror pools or any ways to access paid LLM's for free. Some of the maintainers are also on this forum. If you found any worthy free AI access websites from this forum, feel free to contribute the specific website in FMHY discord.
ChatGPT Mirror Pools
- You may notice that some ChatGPT mirror pools are set in temporary chat automatically. To fix this click "ChatGPT" and disable temporary chat and you can now able to use custom user made GPT's or create a new chat. However unlike the normal ChatGPT site you cannot see message history but works same as the ChatGPT website. File support also works but you cant download the file that ChatGPT modified back to you.
Claude Mirror Pools
- They function the same way as the original claude website. In case of the limits whether the accounts professional or free plan it still has message limits same as the original claude website.
