Like I said, just one of four but the general idea here is that collage is made of notes by the guy who's currently trying to hunt down the disk.

A task that's easier said than done because the disk has a tendency to relocate itself and the romhack/mod is often uploaded online, but mysteriously removes itself after a handful of downloads

The MC and his friend (who I am toying with naming Tom and Kyle, respectively, because the idea of there always being a Tom and Kyle makes me laugh) are in the process of tracking it using forum posts/various posts online, notes left behind people who encountered it and so forth.

Neither of them have actually encountered it, but MC's niece (The Katie mentioned on the disk) necked herself after encountering it and her father (MC's older brother) killed himself three years to the day, leaving behind a series of (insane reading) notes about a haunted disc.

MC refuses to believe that his niece and brother would end their lives in the manner that they did and becomes to determined to find whatever's responsible for it.

SD/Deciever is well aware that MC is trying to hunt him down, but doesn't care because the whole thing amuses him. It's the same reason he came up with different forms for different playstyles/scenarios, he's entertained by humanity's attempts at being clever/trying to find workarounds. None of this is high stakes to him, he's just playing a series of funny little games.

This is too short to even justify putting it in rentry as is, so I'll just use this as an excuse to do a qrd about the forms, some of this stuff will be mentioned on the collage itself but I guess it doesn't hurt to have it in text form

Forma de Hedgehog

The Hedgehog one
Can leave the game in this form, prefers not to
Able to alter the mod/hack/whatever you want to call it that he lives in and other games in the collection as well as any games added to the collection
All of the bosses inside the mod/hack are "alive" for the sole purpose of making them miserable
Modus operandi largely involves targeting people who have suffered some kind of loss and/or mental illness and altering the game to specifically target them with messages relating to that loss/their illness until they give up and end it
Katie, for example, had recently lost her mother in a car accident and blamed herself for it because her mother had stopped to buy an unnecessary item Katie asked for (sonic themed ice cream)
So, the mod/hack in this specific instance would reference her guilt, the car accident, how she "selfishly" caused this, etc etc
Just a petty little shit in general

Forma de Extreme Mode

The one used in the mini comic
Activated by reaching the halfway point in the mod/hack
Something that will only be done by someone downloading the mod because they heard it was difficult
Basically the embodiment of try hard mode for try hard players/speed runners/true gaymers etc
Really fucking big
Three eyes, can detach them and use them as portals
Able to physically hide in shadows (including your own)
Speaks via "encouraging messages" delivered in cutesy bubble lettering form that dissolve anything that makes contact with them
Loves placing these in spots that will fuck you over (i.e. a message reading "Watch your step!" on the ground so your foot gets caught in it)
Unlikely you'll survive this, but if you manage to stall this game of hide and seek long enough, he'll get bored and leave
No one has made it out of this without losing a limb/eye regardless
Even if stalling works, he will come back at some point in your life for "Round Two"

Activated by attempting to cheat in any form while playing the mod/hack (God mode, removing enemies, skipping levels, etc)
"Eyes" aren't functional, echolocates using the voices of your loved ones. If you have no loved ones (lmao), it alternates between screaming, laughing and crying in your voice
Places you in a pocket dimension that mimics your home, but is off in subtle ways
Unlike the second and fourth form, there's zero way out of this. If you've activated this one, you're dead
Allows you "access" to whichever forum/website you downloaded the mod/hack from so you can post while this is going on but much like your home, it's a mimicry of the actual forum/website and all the posters are him
Your posts will be uploaded to the actual forum/website after you're killed
Does the above two things for no reason other than he thinks it's funny

Forma de Game Master

The other "cutesy" one I mentioned in the post not too long ago
Activated by starting the mod/hack but exiting before completing a single level/dying a single time
Turns whatever area you're in while you're interacting with the mod/hack into a custom level of the mod/hack
Complete with enemies/hazards/soundtrack and bosses if you're unlucky
If you manage to complete the levels (unlikely), he'll leave without causing you any more problems
Doesn't play fair, however, prone to extending levels once you reach the goal ring so it "doesn't count"
Makes up rules on the fly, so trying whatever saved someone else won't work
Very chatty
