aya is my most used name. i've used it online for a really long time now, and i'm happy with it! it's the most "me" name ever. no, i did not choose it because i'm trying to be an anime character! my irl name actually starts with an A and has a Y sound too, and has the same vowel sound as it, as well as being close in syllables (3 versus 2). in fact, if you just removed the middle syllable of my irl name, it'd sound really close to aya too! A and Y are my favorite letters. it has roots in japan, true, but also in ghana and nigeria (though pronounced differently), and did you know i have roots from there? how fun! it also comes from a myriad of other places as well, which all have beautiful histories. i'm so glad with this name, i think it fits me. i am ayayaya. ayakins. the ayaling. you know?

niimi is a name reserved for those closest to my heart. no, i am not cosplaying as a native american! where do you people even come up with this. it was gifted to me by a dear friend of mine! i do not have receipts as the gifting was from 2023 + the dms are on a banned discord account but i AM telling the truth, so you'll have to take my word for it, hmm? it comes from ojibwe culture and means "s(he) dances"! that fits me, don't you agree? pretty beautiful :^3
