Initial Setup
This section concerns the additional steps you will need to follow for my bots that have custom assets. If you were brought here from a link on chub then you're in the right place. Follow the below steps to get the best experience.
As of SillyTavern 1.12.1
All character cards can have regex scripts and lorebooks embedded in them. Chub for some reason seems to scrub the regex metadata from the png, so you will have to install it too.
Download Custom Assets and Regex
- Download the custom assets and regex
.zip
from the google drive listed on the bot's chub page. - Open your file explorer and navigate into the SillyTavern root directory. This is where the
Start.bat
file is.- From there, go into the
...\data\default-user\characters
directory. This is where expression sprites for the character expressions extension normally go. - Unzip the contents of the custom assets
.zip
into this directory. There should now be a new folder with the name of the character there. The full directory should look like this:...\SillyTavern\data\default-user\characters\<character name>
- From there, go into the
Importing Character
- Extract the regex
.zip
archive somewhere on your computer. -
Import the character card like normal and select it in the character management tab. With the character selected, open the extensions tab (three stacked cubes) and expand the Regex dropdown. At the top, click import and upload the
.json
regex script files that you extracted in the step above as "scoped scripts". Make sure they're enabled (example below). -
Back in the character editor, click the Character Lore button (🌐icon) at the top. It will ask if you want to import the lorebook. Click yes to load it.
-
Next, click the Ext. Media button (🔗icon) beside the description section and check always allowed.
Afterthoughts
With all said and done, you are good to go. Happy rp'ing!
