Its Chujin and Ceroba's anniversary
They want to go on a date, but Kanako is still too young to be left at home unsupervised
Luckily Dalv was free and agreed to babysit
Dalv decided Snowdin would be a nice place to spend the afternoon
School had just let out and a few local children had gathered at a playground
Kanako clung to the vampire's cloak as she looked at the crowd with trepidation
"Go on Kanako. I'm sure they'd love to play with you." He said, gently patting her on the back
The young fox responded with a smile, then skipped over to them
As she approached she heard of an ongoing conversation
"Nuh uh! No one can beat Undyne! She's the strongest!" A yellow, scaled boy exclaimed
"Mr Dreemurr can beat Undyne," A blue, feathered boy, cut in, earning a mean look from the yellow one
"That's not fair! Mr Dreemurr is a boss monster. Of course nobody can beat him!" The yellow one countered
A third boy, a red fox in blue shirt, cut in. "Well my brother is a boss monster. So there!"
A scowl formed on the yellow one's face
"No he isn't, Mr Dreeumurr is the only boss monster in the whole world. Y-"
He was cut off by Kanako jumping in at the mention of boss monsters
"Ooh! My daddy's a boss monster."
They all stopped to look at her
"And who are you?" The yellow one asked incredulously
"I'm Kanako. My daddy is a boss monster, and he says that that makes me a boss monster too. So that means there's" She stops to count on her fingers for a moment "Three! Three boss monsters."
"There used to be five, but grandpa is an axe now, and grandma is a tree. So now its just me and daddy."
The fox boy jumped in "No, its" he paused to think "seven, six because me and my brother are boss monsters too!"
"You mean five, dumbface" The yellow one replied "Because five minus two is three, plus two is five again."
The red fox too a moment to count on his fingers
"W-well I'm still right. Me and my brother are boss monsters. So he's totally stronger than Undyne."
"HE IS NOT stronger than Undyne! And he is not a boss monster!" The yellow boy replied
"Yes he is!" the fox boy countered
"No he isn't!" The yellow one replied
"My daddy is really strong! One time he picked up a big log all by himself" Kanako added
"You stay out of this!" The yellow boy snapped
"What's all this fuss about?" A deep voice asked
Suddenly all the children were aware of a shadow cast over them by a towering figure
"Daddy!" Kanako cheered as she jumped to hug him
Chujin scooped the girl into his arms
"Its good to see you too, dear. Have you been having fun with Dalv?"
"Yeah. He took me to get nice cream, and then we made snow angels, and then he took me to the playground!" She beamed
"I see that. And are having fun with your new friends?" He asked
"They're not my friends" She said nonchelantly, before Chujin could process it she went on in to the next topic "I was just telling them about how you're a really strong super special boss monster!"
"Oh, Kanako" he blushed "You shouldn't go around bragging about such things. Its impolite."
"I'm sorry daddy."
"Its alright dear."
"What brings you out here so early?" Dalv, who had now come up to speak to Chujin asked "Did something happen with your date?"
"Not at all. Ceroba decided we should go ice skating so we took a little detour to snowdin. When I saw you and Kanako, I just had to stop and say hello."
"Is mommy here too?"
"Yes dear, she's by the lake getting our ice skates right now. Why don't you come with and you can go skating with us?"
"Yay! Skating!" She cheered as he scooped her up into his arms.
"Well you boys have fun. And play safe." He said to the the rest of the children before turning to walk away
He nearly plowed straight into a shorter fox that was approaching the crowd
This fox, shorter red guy in a blue suit, froze when the towering kitsune looked down on him
Chujin smiled apologetically "Sorry, didn't see you there."
The children stared in silence at the sheer size difference between the two, the purple one stood head and shoulders above the red one
A look of realization flashed on the red foxes face, and he stiffened his posture
"Don't blame yourself, most can't see me until I'm right on top of them." He said in a macho voice
"Hey, Wei! Come on, mom made dumplings." He said, motioning for the small red fox to follow.
"Yay! Dumplings!" Cheered, following behind his brother
