Backstory
One of the brightest minds of a fading age, and its greatest defender who led his race to greater scientific discovery under the fear of an extraterrestrial invasion that once took their home. He, alongside his trusted colleagues, spearheaded the Originium Project - their chance to unify as a species into a collective intelligence that would seal Collapsals in their angles, and retake the stars as one. But this was not meant to be.
A terrible witch tampered with the project, corrupting it with her madness, just as the Final War broke out and saw their civilization crumble under the invasion force. With his mighty war machines and trusted generals, he single-handedly waged war against enemies old and new, who both sought to tear apart the last line of defence. They found success; the general fought 'till the last man, but ran out of blood and steel to spare. To save his species, the protocol "New Eden" was initiated - the last attempt to gather remains of the human race in secluded shelters, while the last commander created a falseflag operation to make the enemy believe they were victorious. Before his untimely death, Sentinel could hide in one of the sarcogaphi, enduring to the modern age.
He was re-awoken by Rhodes Island, who finally managed to break into his ancient fortress, guarded by machines that seemed sentient. He impressed them with his knowledge, and they saddened him with history. Species that succeeded his had propped up across the world and built nations of their own, but they were reliant on the insidious parasite he had a hand in developing. The time to act has finally come, and the flagship found a new leader, with the news of mankind's mightiest general spreading far and wide.
Believing in the right of the successor species to live in a world free from the sins of his kinsmen, knowing that he'll have to hurt her again, he treads the path to hell with the best of intentions.
Melee Weapon +3: Gungir
A staff of abstract shapes that seemingly bends to the user's will and can assume nearly any shape, and open wormholes in reality that can be passed through to reach other destinations, through wandering in an otherworldly plane of existence. This priceless artefact was stolen from the Collapsals during the first incursion, as a trophy and reminder that they were taught the meaning of defeat by a single man of indomitable will. Nothing can stop this weapon from reaching its target, but its true potential can only be revealed in the hands of a master, something Sentinel never bothered with.
Prosthetic +1: Neuroport
Meticulously designed by the mutual hands of SentinelThe Sage, this device is interconnected with Sentinel's brainstem and spine, extending its wires around his body and nervous system. It was designed to enhance his bodily functions to slow down his decay from Oripathy and provide him with the ability to 'communicate' with Originium and even guide it to his purposes, whatever they may be. Its functionality is nearly identical to its twin, Seelenmotor, but has proven to be far more invasive for the sake of his survival.
Workshop: Himmelsschmiede
An ancient, Originium-powered forgery that was plucked out of a solar orbit where it served its master with great fervour. It's a workstation, computer, and fabricator all in one that generates and consumes AI personas that solely build up intelligence and knowledge to execute orders given to them. This allows for fast research and creation but renders the machine unstable and unpredictable due to the nature of the intelligence it produces. It has several fail safes put in place, as well as modes of generation: Research, Development, Calculus, Sentience.
