how old is everyone?

Motomu is 8.

what are you hoping to learn from your teachers by the time you graduate?

All I can, but if I had to point to something, I'd like to learn more elemental ninjutsu. I have aptitude for it, but couldn't develop it that well yet. It's not my family's speciality. I'd also like to learn skills that can support it, like better use of my Orbs, and more Taijutsu. (He's a bit apprehensive about the last one. He still hopes he'll awake Byakugan one day, and learn the Gentle Fist, so learning a different combat style right now, feels like abandoning that dream.) Also... genjutsu defence...

What was the first thing your character does when they make it to the village?

Get admitted into the infirmary. He spent two weeks in a coma due to the powerful genjutsu he's been put under. His brain shutdown hard for that time, which protected him from the worst, but some mild PTSD aftereffects will linger for a bit. Once he comes to and gets discharged, he'll join the Academy, but he does so a bit late, so getting integrated feels like a bit of a hurdle. Initially, he might rely on his sister, which might not be the best option given her somewhat asocial stance.

In the Hidden Moon, due to the high quantities of foreigners coming to attend the academy, dormitories have been provided for the students.
You may request another build of the same sex to become your roommate, otherwise it will be picked at random.

He has already been assigned Nagayasu, right? I think I've seen someone say that. I guess he's half white so that's a part in common.

What does your character do in their downtime?

He liked walks in nature. Back when living with a clan, people generally didn't pay him that much attention, focusing on his sister instead, so it was one of the main ways for him to pass time. Now, after the attack, it's more difficult to do that, but there are other options available. In a way, he's searching for a new hobby.

What vibe does your character give off as a first impression?

The appearance, noble upbringing and mimicking his sister's manners, make him difficult to approach, but once you get past it, he's friendly, curious and excitable. Imagine a noble child who tries but struggles to sit still during some important ceremony.

What is your character’s attitude within a classroom setting?

A bit shy and overreliant on his sister at first, especially since he's one of the youngest students, but once he gets used to the situation, he'll be more open. He's the type to volunteer for everything and raise his questions to all questions, even when he's not sure of the answer. Not exactly a teacher's pet, but overactive and yearning for attention.

Teacher Questions - Answer as if your character were asked these questions in class:
What is chakra?

Essence. (His answer is exceedingly simple, but something about the way he says it makes it feel sufficient, profound even, like an answer to a Koan. This stems from his uniquely strong connection to all chakra natures.)

Do you know of the 12 basic Hand Seals?

Yes. Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Bird, Dog, Boar. (He demonstrates as he lists them.) There are other seals too, I've seen my mum use some, but I don't know them well.

What is a Nindō?

Road of a Ninja. Your dream. Your ideals. What you fight for. What you want to become.

What does it mean to be a Shinobi?

To use chakra to fight for your clan, village and beliefs.

You're still too green to have one yet, but what kind of special technique or super attack do you dream of being able to pull off in the future? When you imagine yourself as the big strong elite Jonin facing off against a horde of enemies or an equal foe, what do you pull out to put an end do the battle?

I'd like to learn a technique that drowns my enemies in a combined barrage of different elemental attacks.
(He'd like to learn to control the Orbs well enough that they don't have to be sealed, and then the ultimate attack would channel and combine elemental energies through them, but the true nature of the Orbs is kept hidden from other students and teachers, at least for now.)

We've officially kicked off the school year! Now comes the question of what comes next. Are there any academy student level events you'd like to see happen? A class competition? A cultural festival in the Moon village? A school shooter? Teacher vs Teacher vs Teacher divide using the students as their pawns? Borochimaru showing up? Or do you want to kick things into high gear and get the student life over with ASAP?

I think an event at some point that would face our students with those of another Academy would be neat. It could display how this ragtag group of misfits is, in fact, super talented and well-trained (normally Academy teachers are chunin, right? We have four jonin, including two elites).

How do you guys personally imagine the dorm structure?
Separate buildings for boys and girls? Divided by floor? Not divided at all, just mixing and matching rooms?
Bunk beds? One bed for everyone? Futons?
Are there bathrooms for every room or a single boys/girls bathroom?
How furnished are the rooms?
Is there a kitchen in the dorms? Or are they expected to visit the school cafeteria? Or are they supposed to fend for themselves?

This is already decided, right?

Elementfriends, most of us seem to be singular, non-kekkei elements at the moment. Is anyone thinking of eventually branching out to another element, getting a kekkei, or just focusing on their existing one? We might never get to rank up, but figuring out some training directions for the game might be fun.

All the Basic Elements are already there, but I could go for more EKG, likely also from those top-tier ones, but Dark is also neat. Or I might go for just more elemental hiddens. From KG, I also consider awakening the Byakugan.

You were walking through the village alone, minding your own business. You cut through a side path and bam, you're being held up at knife point! He's just a petty thief, he has no chance at beating you. He's decided to rob you because you're young and dress weird. Unless you're a teacher, then he just thinks you look like an easy mark for whatever reason.
Question is, how do you deal with this generic mob? And what do you do about him after you've handled him?

Knock him out with a hit from an Orb and then deliver him to the police/guards.

Move In Day - You have been assigned a dorm and a new roomie! After you’ve first arrived at the village, you register with the receptionist at the school for the first day of class taking place tomorrow. You are then given a dorm number and a key.The dorm has two beds, two desks and a closet. There is a communal kitchen, a small dining area, public restrooms + showers and on the rooftop there's a clothesline along with a small area for gardening.

Motomu's move in day is a week late. Nagayasu would likely already have been set up.

How do you introduce yourself to your roommate? Do you try to get to know them? Any rules your character would lay out?

Motomu's initial introduction would sound overly formal, but it'd be followed by an immediate shift in tone to sound more friendly. Since he was late, he wouldn't be surprised if Nagayasu appropriated his side of the room, and while Motomu wants it back, he wouldn't be annoyed about it or anything like that. Although maybe Kosshi would have reminded Nagayasu that her brother would be joining them soon.

How do you decorate your dorm? What’s the layout? What belongings did you bring with you? Do you buy anything in the market to bring to the dorm?

Motomu initially wouldn't bring that many things with him, but, not many things for him is a bit of a different ballpark than some students. He brings multiple changes of clothes, hygienic tools (including an incense holder) and some art pieces (wall scrolls initially). He might have to pick and choose what he keeps based on the space available. Seeing how Nagayasu would like to keep their sides of the room separate, he'd respect that, but rather than a makeshift blanket curtain, he'd set up a folding screen with some painting or calligraphy.

If you do want to get closer to your roommate, what icebreakers do you try? If you dislike your roommate, what about living with them annoys your character?

He'd try to find some common points, which... might not be that easy here. Nagayasu comes from a more scientific background, while Motomu comes from a very traditional, even somewhat archaic one. Nagayasu is very specialized in his Taijutsu, while Motomu is more of a generalist. Nagayasu is also trying a lot to keep up a persona initially, while Motomu has a hard time getting rid of his. At some point, he'd switch to trying to bond over what they differ at, and what they can learn from each other, but there would be a point where he'd ask Nagyasu about his lineage, hoping based on him being half-white that maybe they're distantly related and it could be some jumping off point. With Nagayasu's background and first impressions Motomu gives off, I think questions about the lineage might be misunderstood as some elitism, and lead to tensions initially.

What would your character be like to live with? Are they tidy and organized or messy and sporadic? Are they quiet or would they receive noise complaints? How do you divvy up chores? Does your character cook or only get takeout? Do you try and get to know your neighbors or does your character leave them alone?

He never lived without anyone outside his clan, so this'll get some getting used to. Nagayasu might feel like Motomu pesters him a bit too much initially. Tidiness isn't too much of an issue, and neither is the noise, but the smell of incense might get on some people's nerves, and Motomu's also poor with tech, so he might break something accidentally. Motomu doesn't know how to cook, and will rely on his sister and roommate for that initially, but might learn in time if forced to (to mixed results) or someone helps teach him (then it ends up decent). He would try to get to know Nagayasu.

Is this the start of a new friendship or a bitter rivalry? Or both?

Hopefully friendship, but some misunderstandings might start it on a rocky road.

If your character already specified different living arrangements, such as living in an inn, we can just change their move-in day after the first day of class.

Special living arrangements of the infirmary for the first week, but after that, it's fine. Motomu's and Kosshi's parents probably live not that far off, currently (I'm basing it on what I've seen in Kosshi's build, correct me if I'm wrong), so he'd go to visit him, but the dorm is mandatory to help socialize the kids and so on, and he'd be curious about this new experience.

https://desuarchive.org/tg/thread/97670931/#97673306

how tall is your build?

Motomu is 134cm tall (85th percentile for 8yo boys).

Is there someone in your class that has caught your build's interest that isn't your roommate? Someone you'd want to know more about? Even if you're a broody teenager and don't plan on socializing, someone at least must have stuck in your mind more than the others. Maybe it's a teacher?

Nagayasu being half white and his roommate is interesting, of course. The kids with unique physiques, like the animal ones or the rock-boy would certainly attract his curiosity too. The kids who are older, or at least appear to be, would also naturally catch his attention with how different they likely are from him, despite being in the same class, so Momika and Leigan fall under that.
From the teachers, while when it comes to the subjects Dogen and Myorin are more relevant, the Fox is the one who'd catch his attention much more, and not in a positive way. The incident with a masked woman didn't leave him completely unscarred, so getting a masked woman as his genjutsu teacher now is a bit triggering.

What is it like to talk to you? Are you animated? Monotone? Maybe you speak quickly? Or have a deep voice? Some kind of vocal tick?

Motomu speaks with a bit of an archaic and overly polite speech pattern, which sometimes contrasts with his attitude. As he speaks with others more, he'll modernize his speech style more, especially being a sponge for slang.

Give us a line or two of example dialogue to give everyone a feel on how your build typically talks to their classmates.

"I've heard thou are proficient at a pastime called the spinning tops. Perchance, would you be so kind as to teach it to me?"
"Let's commence a battle of wits. I spy with my little eye..."

I want to know what everyone else's other outfits are too. Nobody goes to school in the same thing every day unless you're a fucking weirdo or an... anime character

He has a couple of sets of robes, in a rather archaic noble style. They are all primarily white and roughly the same in style, but finer details and the accent colours differ.

Out of the builds so far, which ones would work well together and which would struggle to get along or have styles that would get in each other's way?

Motomu is a generalist, so he could cover multiple roles, but won't dominate in them. So, it'd be best to team up with someone who specializes in some area to grant a strong core. The one he's used to practising alongside most often is, of course, his sister. She's incomparably more proficient in taijtustu than he is, so she can cover that role while, he plays mid-range support. Nagayasu could also serve that role. Some other taijtusu specialized builds could too, but sometimes the exact way would differ. Like if Nekomaru and Motomu paired up, Motomu would like have to play more of a "tank" role with the orb defensive, while Nekomaru blitzes.
Also, while Motomu is a Generalist, there are some areas he doesn't cover well. One of them is AoE attacks. While he's good with elemental attacks, they are currently rather concentrated. People like Sumio, Natsume and Iwao seem much better at this, so in scenarios that use that they'd be better.
He's also pretty inexperienced, so more tactical minded allies, with proper support skills could be invaluable, like Ayane and Hibiki, especially that they also cover stealth and genjtusu, which he's not proficient at.
