The Kingdom of Oiseau bows to no Nation!

March 10th, 1114 VTE. Orléans, Kingdom of Oiseau

Vice Admiral de Villehardouin was relaxing with his tea awaiting for the Infinitium diplomat that he had been informed had arrived in the city to come inside his office. He was the Commander of the Orléans Naval Station, and by the rite of the crown with the absence of the Duc, he was the unofficial man in charge of diplomatic affairs in the city for now. He had heard reports of the Kronies setting up something in the lands to the north, and wished to check it out but the Kronies themselves had beat him to the punch and had instead come to visit him first. He waited eager to hear what was going on, but also with suspicion as well.

The silence was interrupted when a well dressed clock entered the room. The Vice Admiral stood up expecting the foreigner to bow before him, but this didn't happen. Instead he extending his hand and offered his greetings.

"Good day Good day, my name is Narcissus Timeloop and it is nice to meet you Vice Admiral."

"Err same to you." Villehardouin replied "What brings you here and to the northern lands good sir?"

"Ah yes yes yes, that is just what I wanted to speak with you about!" he replied eagerly before arrogantly saying "Sadly, I wanted to speak to your ruler herself but was directed here instead.. but this will make due for now!"

Villehardouin was rather displeased with this Kronies conduct thus far, but he withheld his feelings as the Clock went on to pull out a map.

"Recently, our nation has acquired the lands of the Tupai - your immediate neighbors - as a protectorate, and we've been given permission to develop the land as we see fit. We were considering building a canal through the land to facilitate trade with the west side of Ailivia."

"It's Aliviria." remarked Villehardouin with sarcasm.

"No matter, let me go on please. You would benefit greatly from this canal and we would like you to join us in this project, but perhaps even you would be willing to consider making you our protectorate and vassal!" Villehardouin immediately looks at him with utter scorn and distain as he continues. "We'll defend your land from the Maitoyl and Watamelons and your lavish lifestyles, and we'll put Kronii Milk in your tea and fanfics in your libraries. You will benefit greatly from our technology in your own struggles and it is a sure fire way to succeed! What do you say dear friend."

Villehardouin stood up and calmly walked to the window with the Kronie walking behind him still pleading his case. "I-I am sure you would see eye to eye if you merel-"

Villehardouin curtly says looking out the window "The Kingdom of Oiseau bows to no nation..."

"I-I beg your pardon?"

with the rage of a kraken, Villehardouin replies "The Kingdom of Oiseau bows to no nation! How dare you come into our lands and demand such things!"

"B-but wait! Surely we can be allies then!"

"Non! You must take us for fools, like you did those savages to the north! Indeed, you think we are so foolish to even consider these terms. I beg your pardon "Good Sir" but not only have you ensured the contempt of your nation forever in the eyes of the proud Oiseau people but have ensured that your little affair in the north will fail totally so long as we live!"

"I-Is this a threat?"

"It is no threat, it is a guarantee. You are lucky I am not the leader of my people, for I would have you executed right here, your ship siezed and send the entire fleet to wipe out your little venture into the lands of the treerrats completely. Get out of my office, get out of my country, and NEVER. COME. BACK."

The Kronie ran from the room and was quickly informed they had 1 hour to leave Orléans. He quickly board his ship and ran off. This grand display of arrogance would come to haunt the Clocks, and Villehardouin's exchange has become legendary. It is now a rallying cry to the Kingdom and her people. That Oiseau bows to no nation, and no people but her own.
