Kronii has a nightmare about you dying
She wakes you up and clings to you but won’t tell you why
She haughtily denies that it bothers her when she tells you the next morning
You notice she’s being more clingy as of late
She holds onto you tighter when try to leave bed
She hesitates, almost reaching out to you before you walk through the door on your way to your car
You can see her watching you through the window as you drive away
That arrogant, narcissistic attitude falters from time to time
One night you’re walking over to the couch and trip
She’s reading a book and only notices when she hears the thud of you hitting the floor
She’s by your side in an instant, helping you up
You reassure her as you get up
You only tripped and fell, you’ve had it happen to you countless time since you were a kid. You’ll be fine
But her eyes are wide, her breath is fast and sharp, and her hands are trembling
She’s terrified
You hold her close, whispering how you’re not going away anytime soon
How you’ll always be there for her
But deep down you know you won’t be
Give or take a couple decades and you’d be gone
You’d leave her sad and alone, desperately clinging to her memories of you
Would she ever love again?
So you hold her close, cherishing the time you had with her as you whispered sweet little lies into her ears
