Yeah you got it. It's post-apocalyptic technically, but it recovered enough to become exactly like our world, but matriarchal instead of patriarchal. I imagine there are various Jonestown-like patriarchal groups still around who managed to keep the patriarchy alive (and more extreme even) through crazy Taliban cults of preppers living in bunkers and such. When they are discovered, the young are "rescued" (kidnapped) and integrated into society. My persona comes from one of these cults, and that's why he's so hostile.

Don't imagine the wars as being men vs women but all of our current nations anong themselves since the sudden shift plunged them into chaos. And sure, trained soldiers can shoot women, but they can't force them to have sex. In this world the military is still majorly male even in the future. I really need to write a lorebook now that I think of it, I had more ideas to explain the situation better but it's aleady token heavy.
