Background
Little Lord Barthomeloi is an oddity even amongst her family of exceptional Magi. Her entire existence can be considered a Regression to the Age of the Gods, a living time capsule that serves to preserve the Mysteries of the past rather than let itself decay into the Magecraft of the Age of Man. Although she is not necessarily incapable of using modern magecraft, it is actually much easier for her to make use of Primordial Runes and Divine Words rather than the incantations and runes used by modern Magi. Because the Barthomeloi heirs are raised in seclusion until they meet the family's standards, it is unknown how such a thing could have been induced, but those aware believe that it must have been due to how unlikely it is that it would naturally come to pass. Were it not for her own status and that of her family, she would surely have her gifts "preserved". There are nevertheless those with a great interest in her. Most notable are the Magus of the Wandering Sea who desire to steal Adelaide away from the ranks of the Clock Tower so that she might join them as an instrumental component in their research. However, attempts at persuading her have proven to be only marginally more successful than taking a crack at kidnapping would be. The only silver lining is that she's taken quite a liking to the representative sent from the Wandering Sea, whom she treats almost sisterly. She's recently suggested that she might be more open-minded to any requests the older woman may make if she were to win her a wish from the ongoing Grail War.
Despite her age, Adelaide does not stray from the perception of the Barthomeloi as overbearing rulers and perfectionists. She is very much concerned with properly maintaining order per the rules of the Mage's Association. Neither does her opinion on the inhuman beasts known as Dead Apostles differ. Indeed, her true reason for luring her friend into the War may be so that they might slay the beasts participating. Past the pride and trappings of nobility, she still retains some hints of the child she has never been allowed to be. Nothing that would embarrass her family, of course. Just a lack of practiced artificiality, a slight preference for delicacies on the sweeter side, an enjoyment of games, and a little extra affection toward things she finds cute. You'll never catch the Little Lord playing with dolls, but she does greatly enjoy all sorts of "games" that are acceptable for a Magus of her stature to partake in. Second to these, she takes whatever chance she has to organize a gathering. While the extent to which she may personally enjoy the festivities is limited by her role, one who finds themselves in her good graces will have an invitation to some ball or gala soon follow. But make no mistake — she expects to be treated with the respect that her name and station entitle her to and will not hesitate to display the ability to match.
