What is an identification? You may ask.
Well hi, it's George, and I'm explaining exactly that.

It's a term I just coined but if any of this includes false infomation, please contact me on my neospring!

An identification is a person who identifies with a fictional character or real person. This is not the same as an introject and people with identifications do not need to have D.I.D or anything similar. indentifications happens when a person interacts with the media of this person/fictional character so much that they start to latch onto characteristics and opinions. This is similar to how people start to use the same texting styles, ideologies and accents to the people they are closest to, only difference is you do not know your identifier in person because they're either a fictional character or you just don't know them.

This has nothing to do with D.I.D alters, and using the term introject when it's simply an identification is offensive and dismissive to people with D.I.D

My example? I identify with George Memeulous, a YouTuber (I know, cringe) that I have been watching for over a decade. Over the years, I've had similar opinions as George, with my accent forming more into his, with a slight stutter forming as a cause of his older videos and with my hairstyles developing into almost identical ones as his. My fashion has changed along with his and my opinions on certain sounds, foods and movies have swayed because of the original George.

This could be seen as roleplaying, however, roleplaying doesn't need the characterand the roleplayer to be similar at all.
