She was raised by her eccentric “grandpa,” a man infamous for collecting orphaned prodigies and molding their lives into rigid programs. For Yae, this meant growing up under constant control: her meals, her schedule, her assignments, all dictated in service of sharpening her detective talents. Now she lives alone in Kageoka under the guise of independence, but even here her guardian keeps a tight leash, assigning her work with the authorities while she quietly struggles with the everyday basics of cooking, chores, and living on her own.

What keeps her steady is her devotion to truth. Investigations aren’t an end in themselves for Yae they’re simply the road she walks to reach what matters most.
