Dear mom, dad, Stu and Sally,
It's been an eventful time at Shiketsu! Runt and me have been transferred to class 2-D, so there are a lot of new faces around me and lots of new friends to make. One kid got transferred to the hero course from the regular students. His name is Satoru Tani, and he sits next to me. He's kind of quiet, so I think maybe he's shy. He's also a little out of shape for someone in the hero course, and since I need to practice my Japanese the class rep (Hifumi Takeda, I don't remember if I told you) suggested that I could help Tani-san with his fitness, and he could help me with my language skills! I thought it was a great idea, and when I asked Tani if he wanted to go for a run tomorrow before school he said "When I do it I'm taking you with me." I assume he meant the run, so he must like the idea too!
Also, I joined the competitive combat club to help my martial arts skills. I know mom was kind of worried about it, but it's well supervised and such so there's really nothing to worry about, and I need to hone my combat skills if I'm going to be taking on bad guys some day. Oh yeah, and remember the joke dad made about a 'karma chameleon' when I said I was joining the culture club? Well, I looked it up so you can tell him I got it. It wasn't funny, but I got it. On that note, though, the culture club is going on a field trip to the Imperial Palace this Saturday! I've already been to the palace a couple of times, but this time we'll be getting a special guided tour, so I'm super stoked about it!
I finally finished moving into my dorm room yesterday; it was kind of difficult finding somewhere to put all my stuff, since the room is a little smaller than the apartment I was renting, and of course I have to share space with my room-mate but I finally fit it all in! I couldn't find any blu-tack, so in the end I used my goo to glue my posters to the wall. I hope I don't have to take them down again any time soon. Speaking of, my room-mate is Inigo Myoga (the guy with the green dragon if you remember?). He's really cool and he has also been helping me with my Japanese. I'm going to catch up on my language skills in no time!
I'm glad to hear that dad finally sold the last of those humvees. Please tell Stu that I'm keeping an eye out for that steam-punk Meiji restoration mecha thing he's watching now, but I don't think the physical version is out yet. Please find enclosed a Princess Heart-Sparkle Unicorn Magical Girl plushie for Sally's birthday.
As always, please pass on my love to Susan and John,
Love, Rob.
