the group met whilst they were still in school. chelsea, valerie and seven were all in their last year, whilst loren was in the grade below. they all knew how to play instruments to a pretty good extent, and shown eachother, but they hadnt formed a band. when the older three finished school, they were a little lost. they all picked up little jobs, making small amounts of money, whilst loren finished up her last year. the pub that seven worked at often did shows from bands that no one had ever heard of. it wasnt horrible to them, just a little background music to their work. loren would often gather the group at her house after school, since she no longer saw them there. she kind of lacked friends in her own year. they would all sit down in lorens garage, a place that since her dad never used, he let her make whatever she wanted of it. theyd mess around in there, play old video games, listen to music, talk for hours on end. one time, loren bought down her bass to show the others. they found it funny, the whole cliche of it. playing music in their... garage..... hey, wait, why dont they form a really shitty garage band??
theyd keep meeting up and playing together often. they only did covers, and didnt even name the band for so long. there hadnt been a proper event at the pub for ages. sevens boss was getting frustrated, customers werent coming for the big nights, because there simply werent any. seven jokingly suggested their band do a show, and immediately their boss was so eager. seven felt a little hesitant, i mean... theyd not ever done a show before... but he seemed really insistent on this. maybe he'd even pay them a little more. seven went to the next band meet up, and explained they may have kind of accidentally promised their boss a show. they expected the others to be upset, yet they seemed... overly excited. suddenly it felt like they were something more than a bundle of silly teenagers. they immediately started planning out their setlist.
-> on their next shift, seven told their boss that the band would do it. he told them they had to start advertising, and so asked for the bands name. oh. um. its... uh... well... they didnt have one. he told them they had to make one, and fast. so seven rushed to them again, and they began to plot out the band name. they all made very... contradictory suggestions. i mean, they all had completely different music tastes, so they all had entirely different inspirations.
loren finished school, giving them more time to practice. they decided they needed to start making their own songs. they once again ran into their favourite issue, the fact that they all liked totally different genres.
