Babel - R.F. Kuang
↳ where do i even start? oh ymg od. babel was gen life changing to a degree im glad laulu nagged me to watch it. im not usually emotional and i dont cry at the end of books but. i was holding back geniune tears when robin && he rest died. 'Be selfish,' he whispered, 'be brave.' DIE? oh my victoire ☹️☹️ Babel took pretty good care of representation + showcasing colonialism (main aspect of the story). Anyhow, most characters are pretty well written, I'm just a bit torn when it comes to Letty, Robin does strike me as an unreliable narrator because. Letty's character changed twice, at first she was stoic and snarky but then she was annoying and a crybaby then. shes snarky again. I talked to someone and they think the same. I feel mixed stuff abt her, like yes she's misunderstood but i fucking hate her. so she caused ramy & anothny's deaths and caused her friends immeasurable suffering & was the reason stuff took this turn. Imagine how the story would've turned out if they had the members of the Hermes Society there? I also think it was handled well -hermes society-, they started mysterious, and u dont rlly know much abt them at the end of the story. قلبي اتقطع ل فيكتوير. my angel oh my god. Only one to survive the friend group alongside Letty, she gen inspires me like. Robin chose death while she yearned for a chance at happiness, even if it means being selfish. what the fuck. Ramy had so much aura he js had to go. 10/13/25
I'd love to read more of R F Kuang's books
