Ame is responsible for saving the world, but she had to sacrifice herself.
Once, long ago –enough to give space to the creation of the Amelia Watson nation–, a god-like virus entity appeared in /vtwbg/, that killed thousands of mortal beings and weakened the gods of it.
All the gods make a commission to deal with it, but none of them are unaffected by it. They find out that nothing can be made, their eternal bodies will eventually defeat the virus but mortal life in the planet is doomed.
They break the news to the people of the world, who begin resenting the gods for being unable to save them, except the leader of the –then– most advanced nation: Amelia Watson. She approaches the gods to joint them in the search for a solution, they accept given the circumstances.
While in the commission, Ame offers an idea: Kronii, the Warden of Time, is able to go to a zone 'out of time' with her powers, as she heard about it in /∞/ stories. She could go to the past and find where the virus god entity started, catch it before it spread, go to the 'no-time' zone and wait for her body to neuter it if it was possible in the no time zone or, if not, sacrifice herself to quarantine it.
Kronii is not against the idea, but she can't use her powers in her state.
Amelia mentions the legend of The Clock that kept time magic for Kronii's previous body inside it. Kronii says that such item exists, and could be used for it. She will do it, she is already one of the most affected goddess by now, sacrificing herself doesn't matter to her.
Amelia says that she could sacrifice herself, being mortal and carrying the virus means that if time runs for her even in the no-time zone, the virus would die with her, and if not, she would be a mere mortal quarantined instead of losing a goddess. Kronii is against it, she will be the one to do it, but she lose consciousness soon after.
Fast in wits, Amelia steals the clock and go for the plan.
She traveled to when the virus entity showed up, let herself be infected by it, leave a message to the gods about the plan (because when time gets rewritten or split, they wouldn't know this happened at all) and goes to the no-time place. But, as expect, no time passed in that place, so no change is happening. Ame was trapped lucid in that stillness of time until Kronii finds where she is and, with the powers of several gods given to her, capture the virus and goes back to /vtwgb/ with it and Ame. Back into our world, she immediately handed it to Ina, the amiable terror born in The Void, an infinite regressing plane prohibit to even gods, where she travels to and leaves it to dissolve in it. But it was too late for Ame, whose mind was changed by the experience... and well, she started acting as the Ame we know, and the saga of the multiple Ames began. And she kept the clock obviously. She even put a mustache on it.

Some theologist believe that the prophet that told the story might have been a castaway /Ame/ citizen who infiltrated the kronies and made up the story to justify the clock being stolen by Ame.

And the nation of Ame has another different story altogether. What is the truth?
