Ren Prompts

main build: https://rentry.org/vwp9ev33

how old is everyone?

If asked, Ren will say he's 11. In truth he's not really sure when exactly he was born.

what are you hoping to learn from your teachers by the time you graduate?

Ren would naturally want to get as strong as possible, but more than that he wants to know what other people fight for, especially his teachers. Everyone came here by choice, not by necessity. Which means they all have some higher purpose. Ren would want to learn about and discuss those things.

What was the first thing your character does when they make it to the village?

Ren came to the village a few years before the others. His arrival was likely met with an immediate interrogation followed by constant menial labor.
But the first time he entered the village he was awestruck at how clean and civilized everything was, how nobody seemed afraid or suspicious, and how families could simply relax and enjoy life. So the first time he had any real free time he simply walked the streets and watched, taking it all in.

What does your character do in their downtime?

Downtime? I suppose if Ren had any he would probably be lost at what to do and end up working or training instead.
If compelled to take a break he would probably gravitate towards lengthy discussions about justice and order and why the world needs the nobility.

What vibe does your character give off as a first impression?

That really depends on the context. In most cases Ren will come off as a servant, there to assist however he can with a certain professional distance. However, if he's carrying out a task for the nobility he'll come off as commanding and authoritative; making sure every little detail is accounted for as he doesn't trust commoners enough to give up control. You might even get to see both sides at once. Bowing low one second and barking orders the next.

What is your character’s attitude within a classroom setting?

Total teacher's pet, regardless of how unreasonable the teacher is being. He'll default to rigidly following instructions unless emphasis is put on doing otherwise. He'll try to push back against any troublemaking the other students get up to, but right arguments, especially from a noble, might sway him. That brings up another point, he'll show clear favoritism towards any noble classmates even if technically they're all equal inside the academy.

You're still too green to have one yet, but what kind of special technique or super attack do you dream of being able to pull off in the future? When you imagine yourself as the big strong elite Jonin facing off against a horde of enemies or an equal foe, what do you pull out to put an end do the battle?

Ren imagines mastering flying raijin so that he can teleport to his kunai mid flight and hit opponents from behind. It would require an immense level of skill but he's knows it's possible, at least in theory.

Are there any academy student level events you'd like to see happen? A class competition? A cultural festival in the Moon village? A school shooter? Teacher vs Teacher vs Teacher divide using the students as their pawns? Borochimaru showing up? Or do you want to kick things into high gear and get the student life over with ASAP?

Test of bravery. Snipe hunt. Visiting the palace. Part time jobs. Harry Potter style searching the academy for secrets. A visit from the king where everyone needs to be as impressive as possible and fails horribly. That sort of stuff.

How do you guys personally imagine the dorm structure?
Separate buildings for boys and girls? Divided by floor? Not divided at all, just mixing and matching rooms?
Bunk beds? One bed for everyone? Futons?
Are there bathrooms for every room or a single boys/girls bathroom?
How furnished are the rooms?
Is there a kitchen in the dorms? Or are they expected to visit the school cafeteria? Or are they supposed to fend for themselves?

Couple students to a room. Separate buildings for males and females. Students are expected to take care of the building themselves and they're given a monthly allowance to pay for supplies, but it's a common fund so anyone in the dorm can take from it. It's intended to cause conflict and teach students to work together. Bonus if it's never enough to pay for everything they need and students are forced to find other ways to supplement their income.

Elementfriends, most of us seem to be singular, non-kekkei elements at the moment. Is anyone thinking of eventually branching out to another element, getting a kekkei, or just focusing on their existing one? We might never get to rank up, but figuring out some training directions for the game might be fun.

Magnetism would be pretty interesting.

Non-elementfriends, are you considering picking up some elemental ninjutsu?

If it would be anything it would be the more offensive melee variants. Fist, rasengan, weapon, blade.

You were walking through the village alone, minding your own business. You cut through a side path and bam, you're being held up at knife point! He's just a petty thief, he has no chance at beating you. He's decided to rob you because you're young and dress weird. Unless you're a teacher, then he just thinks you look like an easy mark for whatever reason.
Question is, how do you deal with this generic mob? And what do you do about him after you've handled him?

Grab him and teleport him to the police station. Maybe monologue about how he's violating the peace the nobility have built and doesn't deserve their protection.

Move In Day - You have been assigned a dorm and a new roomie! After you’ve first arrived at the village, you register with the receptionist at the school for the first day of class taking place tomorrow. You are then given a dorm number and a key. The dorm has two beds, two desks and a closet. There is a communal kitchen, a small dining area, public restrooms + showers and on the rooftop there's a clothesline along with a small area for gardening.
How do you introduce yourself to your roommate? Do you try to get to know them? Any rules your character would lay out?
How do you decorate your dorm? What’s the layout? What belongings did you bring with you? Do you buy anything in the market to bring to the dorm?
If you do want to get closer to your roommate, what icebreakers do you try? If you dislike your roommate, what about living with them annoys your character?
What would your character be like to live with? Are they tidy and organized or messy and sporadic? Are they quiet or would they receive noise complaints? How do you divvy up chores? Does your character cook or only get takeout? Do you try and get to know your neighbors or does your character leave them alone?
Is this the start of a new friendship or a bitter rivalry? Or both?
If your character already specified different living arrangements, such as living in an inn, we can just change their move-in day after the first day of class.

I suppose we'll figure this out if Ren ever gets a roommate.

how tall is your build?

I don't know. Like 5'1" maybe?

Students
Is there someone in your class that has caught your build's interest that isn't your roommate? Someone you'd want to know more about? Even if you're a broody teenager and don't plan on socializing, someone at least must have stuck in your mind more than the others. Maybe it's a teacher?

Nekomaru would catch Ren's interest because he exemplifies everything Ren isn't. The pure childlike innocence is something he himself never had. He would definitely spend time pondering it and trying to understand him. There's also a potential rivalry there with the question of whether speed can beat teleportation.
Ayane, Kosshi, Motomu, and Hibiki would all be on his radar on account of them being nobility, even if they're far from home.
Momika is someone Ren would be frustrated with because her carefree scoundrel nature is unbefitting of someone serving the nobility.
Despite that, Ren would probably approve of how respectful Nana is to her "sensei", seeing her as something of a kindred spirit.
He's likely to butt heads with Kisui on account of the fact that he keeps calling himself lord of the underworld despite being a commoner.

You're a long way from home, so is there anything you really miss from your old home? A local dish? A game you used to play? A village tradition? A beautiful view you'd taken for granted? Your parents? Do you ever think about trying to replicate that in some way here in Getsu?

No. Everything outside of Getsu sucks. At least everything Ren has seen.

Now I can already hear some of you saying "I'm a tragic character who has never known home...", so what do you think you'd look for in a home? Does Getsu have it, or do you need to make it yourself in some way?

A full pantry. A warm fireplace. Clean streets and market stands with crowds of people enjoying their lives. Getsu has all of these things.
But the most important thing would be a leader who's worthy of loyalty and a people who deserve them.
