Sword of Convallaria Newbie Guidebook

FAQ

What is Sword Of Convallaria?

Sword of Convallaria is a SRPG game with gacha mechanics and pixel sprites for the actual gameplay. The game was developed by XD Entertainment and takes inspirations from games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre. It has regular gacha style progression as found in other similar games of the genre but also has a mode called "Spiral of Destinies" that is separate from the gacha and can be played without engaging in the gacha side of the game because Spiral of Destinies progression and characters are completely separate from the gacha side. You can import some of the characters from your account to a run of Spiral of Destinies but it is highly likely that endgame Spiral of Destinies characters will be stronger than characters from your gacha side due to how the progression and tailored trainings work in that mode.

Is this game F2P friendly?

It's decent. It doesn't shower you with rolls so you do have to practice good resource management and plan out your rolls but luckily the Global server is behind the original server from TW so the future sight helps a lot in planning who you get and prioritizing who to get. The developers have said they want to make it so the global server is six months behind and stays six months behind TW so there will always be future sight.

All content can be cleared without Legendary units (Highest rarity) but Legendary units definitely make everything easier and some are way more valuable than others. This includes end game content such as Tower of Conquest, endgame farming stages or latest story stages so you can try to clear content using F2P strategies while you catch up or while you save for certain units you really want to save for or are looking forward to.

Am I too late to start?

The game came out on July 31 for PC, iOS and Android so it's still very recent. It's been out long enough for most of the players to reach end game and level cap but it's still very possible to catch up to level cap in around two months time.

Getting Started

Where do I get the game?

Global: Play Store | App Store
PC Steam | Standalone

If you want the Standalone client then go to the official Sword of Convallaria page and click the Windows button. It'll download a standalone version of the game without steam. The steam version allows you to link your steam account to it and make purchases through steam but it's recommended to reroll on Mobile, emulator or the standalone version instead of steam. Only use the steam version after you have decided on an account to keep and will not reroll anymore.

🌟Rerolling🌟

Re-rolling is the act of making new accounts until you obtain your desired outcome. It's a completely optional process that some gacha players go through to secure themselves a headstart but you can play through the entire game without rerolling without a single issue.

New accounts start with 21 rolls in the mail from Pre-registration rewards. Depending on ongoing events, you might recieve more rolls to start out with. The first 10-roll you are forced to do during the tutorial is scripted and will give you Maitha and Crimson Falcon. The 21 rolls will be obtained from going to your mail and claiming it. You obtain control of your account after clearing 0-1 of Fool's Journey and can either end your reroll here or keep going to squeeze more rolls before rerolling a new account.

-How your Gacha screen should look like

The First Summon banner is for new accounts only and guarantees one legendary. You CAN get more than one legendary from this banner if you are really lucky but the banner only guarantees one and will go away once you obtain one legendary from it. The pool for this banner is not limited to launch units and contains every single unit released, including the current banner unit. It is highly reccomended to do this banner before it goes away because one legendary for 30 rolls is a great deal.

The "Innocence" banner is another newbie banner that will be avaliable to you regardless of when you started your account and the end date will also depend on when you created your account. Col & Beryl are two excellent units and you really can not go wrong with either. Col is a Seeker character who's entire role is assassinating enemies with backstabs. Col's main mechanic is gaining an extra turn whenever she kills an unit which makes her excellent for cleaning up trash but she falls off if she can't get the kills she needs. Regardless, she is still a very good character to have in your account.
Beryl is a Magic character and her main mechanic is NRG regeneration. Between her core ability that regenerates her one extra NRG every turn and the skill NRG restoration, she can use a skill every turn without worrying about NRG management.

The "Debut" banner and other "Destined" banner if one exists will be the currently ongoing banners. The value of these banners highly depends but it's usually not reccomended to roll the dual banners because of how the pity works for these and save for the "Debut" banners.
