No Vagina? It's Not Futanari

What's the point? TL;DR

We are asking you to use the futanari tag correctly. If the character does not have a vagina, then it cannot be futanari. Call it trans, newhalf, dickgirl, whatever, but don't call it futanari.

What is a futanari?

In Japanese, it translates to dual form. A futanari is a human with both male and female genitalia. In hentai, this is typically presented as a human with a female appearance and a penis above her vagina. Most will have external testicles between the penis and vagina, but internal testicles are also common. Actual reproduction is not always explored in futanari media, but a futanari should be capable of both being impregnated and impregnating. It's possible for a futanari to have a male appearance, but since futanari are typically a fascination of straight-identifying males, the majority have a female appearance.

What is the problem?

People and the software that learns from us are including characters that are female-presenting men under the umbrella of futanari. An example of a female-presenting man would be a shemale, newhalf, dickgirl, ladyboy, or trans. All those terms imply a person who was born a male with a feminine figure. The feminine figure could be obtained by drugs, magic, hormonal abnormality, or surgery. They may have breasts or wide hips, but in between their legs, there are only a penis and testicles. The problem is that there is no vagina. If there is no vagina, it is not futanari. If the character only has the genitalia of a single sex, it can't be a futanari because futanari should have both. The same thing applies to a cuntboy, trans-man, or otherwise male-presenting woman. Since there is no penis, it is not a futanari.

How did it get this way?

  • There is often confusion when it comes to drawings about whether or not a character is a futanari. If you are looking at a futanari with testicles from above waist level, it is impossible to see the vagina.
  • In real life, futanari do not exist. In real life, there are intersex people. Intersex people are mostly pseudohermaphrodites, such a man with testicles, but external genitalia resembling those of a female. There are also true hermaphrodites, people with both ovarian and testicular tissues, but they do not develop two complete sexual reproductive systems like a futanari.
  • In real life, a "woman with a penis" is either a trans identifying male or a man who makes himself feminine, this leads some people to consider futanari as a virtual representation of a trans.
  • There are men who use futanari and/or trans as a stepping point to gay porn.
  • A large portion of futanari fans are submissives and there are many stories where the futanari penetrates the man, but the futanari is never penetrated.
  • Trans-identified males using the term to describe themselves.
  • Some fans do not care about the distinction.

Why does it matter?

People who enjoy futanari are interested in both male and female genitalia, they don't want the term to include characters that only have male genitalia. You are free to enjoy trans, we only ask that you correctly separate them from futanari, so everyone can easily find what they enjoy.

What about a woman who was born with a penis?

Being a woman necessitates being born with a vagina and the capacity to give birth. A futanari must be have both sets of genitals whether they are born with them or grow them later. If the character is born with only a penis, then it is a man, even if they have a female appearance. If we were to make a character that is a femboy or trap, but we gave them breasts and a vagina, then the label of trap means nothing because its fundamental characteristic of being a male with a penis has been removed. It cannot be a futanari without a vagina.

What about a woman who grows a penis?

If a woman grows a penis in addition to her vagina, she becomes a futanari. If the penis replaces the vagina, then it is a sex change and the woman would now be male or considered mutilated. In order to transform a woman into a futanari, it would require the woman to grow a penis in addition to their vagina, not replace it.

What about an alien/animal species?

An alien or animal species that has a sex resembling a human female with breasts and such, but only having a penis is not a futanari. It only has one sexual organ so it can't be futanari. If that penis ejaculates sperm, it's male, and if it ejaculates eggs, it's female.

It's just fantasy.

Labels matter because they help us identify and categorize things. This is the fundamental problem and it can be best explained with trans ideology. If anyone can be woman just by identifying as one, then being a woman doesn't mean anything. If you wanted a lesbian or yuri doujin and upon opening the work you found only men with penises, then you would be upset about the mislabeling. We should use the correct labels so that everyone can find and enjoy what they want.

You only care about the dick.

Futanari fans care about both the vagina and the dick, the people who only care about the dick are trans fans. The purpose of the text is two make those two groups distinct.

What should I do?

  • If you are a fan of futanari and are tired of the tag being abused, link this text where it is misused.
  • If you are creating a work that features futanari make sure to show or include the vagina when possible so it's clear that it is a futanari.
  • If you are creating a chatbot that is a futanari make sure to include the vagina in the definition. The LLM may include training data that is poisoned and during roleplay the model may think the character has no vagina.
