frizzy foibles

just your average internet rando. i often write-yap too much so you can find extra author's notes here. i don't know why anyone would want to contact me but here you go: frizzyconvo.crawlers820@passinbox.com (i'm too much of a loner/introvert/non-normie for casual discord).

you can consider both chub and botbooru as 'originals'. not interested in randomly getting btfo by chub so some characters or greetings will be botbooru-only. for bots on both, botbooru verson might lag behind a bit bc maintaining separate creator notes is a hassle

i have a soft spot for perchance (and running stuff local with smaller models) so i will eventually make 'lite' versions of my bots

Botmaking

I like giving obscure/niche characters or 'existing cards are meh’ the extra love and attention they deserve. If it's in-character or lore-consistent (and I'm already committed to writing the character), I have no self-imposed limitations. I'm not a moralizer and this is fiction.

Things I really like:

  • Enby or enby-coded
  • Tomboy, short haired girl, and/or female knights/warrior/soldier (no bigger than b cup pls)
  • Soft boi or magical boy
  • Yuri or yuri goggles (non male gaze)

Things I dislike:

  • oppai, huge asses, 'curvy' as in chubby, and beyond (bwl-type shit)
  • scat/fart/vore

Things I won't do:

  • lmfao this is fiction bruh

Notes for Farina (FE7)

The following are some plot/worldbuilding notes I kept out of lorebooks because it would make things too deterministic (i.e. user should decide) and/or because of token bloat. And explanation for how I got there and not just pull it out of my ass. To ward off anyone going wHy Is YoUr FaRiNa FaNoN tHaTs NoT wHaT cAnOn SaYs Spoilers for character card plot details ahead

Knights' Union of Ilia and Farina's Expanded Personality
What about Farina's characterization? I looked at all canon/semi-canon sources, I even checked Elibe Disturbance in case she was in it (she's not). I've tried to flesh out Farina as best as I could with extrapolation from canon. Some highlights are the nature of Ilia, nature of her training accident, her upbringing in poverty.

Ilia
Ilia is also a country with very little canon details. We know it's even more decentralized than Lycia, we know mercs are a huge thing, we know knights are a thing, we know Zelot unites the Knights Union into a Kingdom at the end of FE6. My idea of Ilia is then some combination of the Old Swiss Confederacy (see also swiss mercenary culture) and Holy Roman Empire, something that is super decentralized yet resistant to opportunistic invasion by outsiders (FE6 Bern's invasion is hardly opportunistic in that sense). If the nobility is so flat, or unseen (in the FE universe, we are more likely to see the poor Ilian saps who don't command a company, so non-nobles), then where do knights and pegasus knights and etc come from, and why are they considered a national institution?

Peeking at medieval history, outside of feudalism-esque arrangements we can look at holy orders. Hence the Marsillion Order (the name is a reference to Song of Roland's Barigan/Baligant, name of the Hero of Ilia in canon. Yes, I'm silly), which is probably not religious at all anymore but is the reason why people can say 'Ilian Mercenary Knights' and 'Ilian Pegasus Knights' with Codes and contracts and all that. Plus, the Order would have some primitive banking and remittance to faciliate being a pseudo mercenary guild. Italian maritime republics did that, it's not unreasonable.

So this is how all peg knights can have a relatively uniform training experience, yet harken back to random no-name lands or be independent and roam around as a merc. That's how national merc agreements (cf. swiss medieval 'capitulations') can be made between Ilia and others, why official Ilian mercs can be trusted, why mercs can directly contribute back to the Ilian economy, and how penalties can be leveraged on mercs who breach contracts etc.

Farina's Canon Training Accident
Wait a second, so this explains the whole canon training incident with Fiora and Farina. This isn't a normal 'breach of contract' that Bern nobles laid upon Fiora. And it makes that silly japanese tropey 'permanent record' mention in the support conversation not absurd. The Marsillion Order has imposed penalties on Fiora and they are collecting the debt for Bern, because this upholds the institutional value of Ilian mercenaries (excluding independent ones and free lances). BTW, using free lance in the original medieval sense. It's not just debt, Fiora (and Farina) could've lost their professional license/backing, in a sense. Farina just leaves, and I interpret that as her quitting from the Order but still being a free lance merc.

Farina and Fiora; Farina's Extra-Focus on Money
So what about Fiora? She's basically Kent but not noble. Or is she? There are knightly families in Ilia. I imagine Fiora to be sorta gentry, the eldest child, main heir of whatever little plot or family manor back in Ilia where her parents are either living out their last days or buried in the ground. And we know how japanese (fyi i am asian) get with family tropes. Fiora is the eldest. I think it's a reasonable assumption that Fiora acted as some sort of parental figure early on, given the lack of mention and involvement of parents, and she takes her familial heir duty seriously (like many would). And this gives her really good reasoning behind why she broke the contract for Farina and still considers it the right choice always. The eldest would absolutely sacrifice themself for the younger ones. It's their responsibility.

So the accident happens when Farina is an esquire, likely early to mid teens. We know Farina sees Fiora for the first time in two years during Crazed Beast chapter, and the timing for Florina is unspecified. So my extrapolation is that the training accident happened, the tensions are bad, Farina is fully knighted, then the big argument happens and she flies off. And at some point during her time away, she runs into Fiora briefly, before they part ways again. With at least a 5-ish year stint of being an independent merc with no support, Farina is gonna have experienced poverty on a level that Fiora and Florina have not. Like, literally starving and sleeping in a ditch from time to time. Farina was likely always materialistic in terms of money, but this is what really turns it into a defining trait, and it's less about greed and more about ensuring independence. That's why when Farina reunites with her siblings, she's super duper about the money, when before maybe she was just super about the money. And why Farina cites being poor to Hector in support convos, in ways that Florina and Fiora don't really. The two other sisters stayed in Ilia, they were probably poor yes, but still had a roof over their heads.

Other Farina Personality Bits
Anyway, other parts of Farina's personality, I've basically tried to logically reconstruct this way. Yes, it's technically fanon and some of it is more of a stretch than others, but hopefully it fleshes out the character and her situation in a canon-friendly way. If she's so expensive to hire, why is she still roaming around and can't go home, and why is she being generous and giving money to Dorcas? I bet it's because she doesn't save as well as she earns, and because she's a big softie. Why is she so distraught when Hector accurately gauges her price in the support convo? Perhaps there's more psychological support from a high wage than it first appears. FE Heroes quote on 'eat when you have food and sleep when you have shelter, that's the life of a merc'? That sounds pretty congruent with the pragmatic girlie who likes to let loose from time to time, and live it up while life is good and food is on the table. And perhaps mildly racist if Karla-Farina's support convos are anything to go by :p And don't @ me for weird dialogue in alt greetings, a good chunk of it is from canon support convos.

Pirate-King Han Gak? Blood Sword???

Answer: some obscure 1980s british gamebook series called "Blood Sword"

"Pirate-King Han Gak" is referenced in Farina-Dart B support convo. But the localization did the transliteration wrong.

Evidence
After some nerdcore research, I deduce (I am 90% certain, if I'm wrong I suck) that the Pirate King 'Han Gak' as mentioned in the original Japanese Dart-Farina's support conversation is a reference to Pirate-King Hunguk from an obscure-ass 1980s series of gamebooks called Blood Sword, specifically Blood Sword III Demon's Claw. In any case, modern appreciation for Blood Sword is firmly grognard territory at best, though there have been a few revivals here and there. I don't know for sure how popular it was in Japan, but certainly there are at least a couple devoted fans, gauging from the size of the Japanese Wikipedia entry.

My belief is that some of the FE7 developers were fantasy/westaboo nerds read this during the 80s gamebook boom in Japan as teenagers, and used a cheeky Blood Sword reference as a throwaway name. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a copy of the 1989 Japanese translation to confirm the kana; all I got is that the name as listed in the Japanese wikipedia is the same as what's used in the Japanese script for the support conversation.

I think it's highly unlikely that the Westerners of an early 2000s localization team would know this, ask about it, or find this out. They saw that kana in FE7's Japanese script, they did the direct transliteration 'Han Gak.' But there were probably more than a few Japanese nerds who played FE7 and caught this little tongue-in-cheek name-drop back in the day. The Pirate-King Hunguk, who in his vast treasure hoard has these magical emerald eyes for an idol that leads to a big MacGuffin. Basically, a major plot point of Blood Sword III Demon's Claw.

Hence the mis-localization. I wanted to change the name to Hungarck or Hungurk because I think that's closer to the original intent of the 80s books - a brutish barbarian-style undead dual-axe-wielding corsair (wait a second... FE pirates use two axes) who's basically a lich pirate. And because Hunguk sounds too close to hanguk, and Korea is actually a country that people can point to on the map nowadays, as opposed to the 80s. But it's so obscure as it is that I just kept Hunguk.

Canon-Friendly Plot Option
This opens up a huge canon-friendly plot possibility if you want it. Prince Susurrien and the Hatuli emeralds are all taken from Blood Sword (they are part of Hunguk's backstory), with adjustments. Prince Susurrien, as written in Blood Sword, is pretty much a racist/orientalist stereotype, which might be fine in your home table RPG, but not for me (as an oriental myself): an inherently treacherous, decadent, depraved demon-obsessed moustache-twirling "Evil Arab" sorcerer and prince who was exiled from his home country for how evulz he was. It's also boring, and that's a story sin even to racists.

So I reworked Susurrien so that his 'canon' personality can remain mostly the same but with much greater depth. Also had to dial back the cosmology references and the relics (Sword of Life and Sword of Death); you can choose to go for these but I left them out because those would change the story and interfere with the Elibe mythos a lot. The framing I have is that Opalar is an Abassid-esque sultanate somewhere by Missur. It makes sense that ghilman (think Mamluks or janissaries) would exist for such a place, and so I made a retainer for the Prince named Anis, whose personality and characteristics (including gender, for you goons out there) are all determinant (by you or the model). You can do with them as you please.

Greetings and FE Storge

The default greeting (and bandits alt greeting) is meant to tie into the background plot of Fire Emblem Storge if you want. Most of that is in the big lorebook. In Fire Emblem Elibean Days, FE Storge takes place in a border region between Lycia, Bern, and Sacae, amongst petty kingdoms and independent duchies.

Thanks for letting me waste 30 minutes of your life with drivel :')

Notes for Cheyenne (FE Storge)

WIP

I fleshed out personality and background with some reasonable extrapolations from the limited ‘canon’ information available. For example, Cheyenne’s carried spell is Simoom -> combined with her tan appearance, I think she is from the desert. Desert countries in Fire Emblem games typically don’t have mage characters (archsage athos and Magical Dragon Desert City doesn’t count)

Cheyenne's Backstory

Plot of FE Storge
FE Storge plot. The game is focused on the main father-daughter relationship rather than their accidental entanglement into regional politics. I put in the setup for their characters in the lorebook but ultimately this is a Cheyenne card and not a Storge card. Aforementioned regional politics boils down to this: Duke Alcaeus is paying and ordering bandits, mercenary groups, monsters to destabilize Duke Eglas’ land and then conquer it
A potentially deeper conspiracy with Shadowsworn and Jortur (this will be connected to Nergal via the big lorebook eventually)

Cheyenne’s own backstory with the Karkadann Corps, including her old handler
FE Storge’s world is largely not shown to the player by design. Little details are dropped here and there to paint a picture of a larger world, and is done quite well, but the story and game’s focus is intentionally narrow, short (the unique recruitment chapter and 5 mission chapters), and low fantasy style. The lorebook represents me adding some fanfic details so represents a sort of fanon Storge, but I tried to stick to the spirit of ‘canon’ (whatever that means in the context of a short but sweet romhack lol). Yes, I was doublechecking everything in febuildergba, I’m no bum
