Modded Pack Setup
Prism Launcher / MultiMC
Don't own Minecraft? Need to play cracked?
You'll need to install the launcher first, then either follow the Prism4Free guide or use the Prism / Poly Offline Bypass. You may also use PollyMC, but this is not recommended as it's a modified version of the launcher that may receive less updates.
First you'll want to install Prism Launcher or MultiMC and set it up, if you haven't done so already. It's recommended to use Prism Launcher, as it has everything MultiMC does and then some. If you need help installing Java, Prism Launcher has a guide on how to do so (usable for MultiMC.)
If you're installing via a .mrpack file, simply drag and drop it into the launcher, like so:
If you're installing via the raw mod .rar or .zip files, extract the files first, then make a new instance by pressing "Add Instance" on the top left. Select 1.20.1 as the Minecraft Version, then select Forge as the Mod Loader on the bottom right. Feel free to add any name, group, or icon on the top. It should look like the screenshot below.
From here, press "Edit" on the right, and an Instance window will open. Open "Mods" on the left and drag and drop your mods from there.
You're ready to play! Just press "Launch" to start your instance.
SKLauncher
First download and install the launcher from their website if you haven't done so already. You'll need to make an account for this. Once you have it launched, you can either login with Microsoft (if you own the game) or press "Switch to offline mode" (if you don't own the game.)
Press the + button next to "Installations Manager". Name it anything you want, then select Forge as the mod loader on version 1.20.1 and the default Forge version. Press "Save" on the bottom right.
You'll have the installation you made selected on the left. Press the ⋮ button, "Open installation directory", then open "mods". From here, you can extract / move your mods to this folder. Then just press "PLAY" on SKLauncher to start.
ATLauncher
This launcher cannot be used to play cracked / offline. You'll need to buy Minecraft to use it.
First download and install the launcher from their website if you haven't done so already. Launch it and login to your account via the Accounts tab on the right.
If you're installing via a .mrpack file, go to the Instances tab, press "Import" on the top left, press "Browse" and select the .mrpack file. Import and press "Install" on the popup. Wait for it to download and then just press "Play".
If you're installing via the raw mod .rar or .zip files, extract the files first, then go to the "Create Pack" tab on the right. From here, select Forge on the bottom, then select 1.20.1 on the dropdown menu. Give it whatever name and description you want. It should look like this:
Press "Create Instance" on the bottom (NOT "Create Server") and wait for it to install the loader. Go to the Instances tab, press "Edit Mods", drag and drop the mods from your folder, and then select "Add" on the popup. Wait for it to copy all your mods, then just close out the window. You can now launch the game by pressing "Play" in the Instances tab.
Modrinth Launcher
This launcher cannot be used to play cracked / offline. You'll need to buy Minecraft to use it.
First download and install the launcher from their website if you haven't done so already.
If you're installing via a .mrpack file, press the + button on the bottom left, select "From File", and drag and drop the .mrpack file. Wait for it to download and then go to the library tab (the book icon on the left), hover over "FMHY Server Pack" (or "FMHY Server Pack (Client++)" if you're using the Client++ version) and press the ᐅ button.
If you're installing via the raw mod .rar or .zip files, extract the files first, then press the + button on the bottom left. Select Forge as the Loader and 1.20.1 as the Game Version. Give it whatever name or icon you want. It should look like this:
Give it a few moments to download Minecraft and so on. Once it's done, go to the library tab (the book icon on the left) and click the instance you just made. Press "Folder" on the top left and open the "mods" folder. From here, you can extract / move your mods to this folder. Then just press "ᐅ Play" on the launcher to start the game.
Vanilla Launcher
This launcher cannot be used to play cracked / offline. You'll need to buy Minecraft to use it.
Download the launcher from the official site if you haven't already. Install and login to your Microsoft account on it. You'll also need to download and install Java 17 from Adoptium OpenJDK.
Since this is the official launcher and Microsoft doesn't officially support mod loaders, we'll have to install Forge. Download the Installer for the Recommended version on 1.20.1. Skip the ad and open the .jar file. (If it asks you what to open it with, open with "OpenJDK Platform Binary.") Make sure "Install client" is selected and then press "OK".
Launch (or close and reopen) the launcher once it's done downloading, then go to "MINECRAFT: Java Edition" (on the left) and then Installations (on the top.) Hover over "forge" and press the folder icon on the right, then open the "mods" folder. (Make a new one if it isn't already there.) From here, you can extract / move your mods to this folder. Then just press "Play" on the launcher to start the game.
