Appearance: Purple and tan fur, long droopy ears, scarlet eyes, magenta and purple fire and will-o-wisps. Slightly smaller than the average pokedex size for quilava, incredibly skinny due to weeks lost in the desert. Always looks a little sleepy from staying up late talking to spirits

Personality and Backstory:
Fen is a meek but very kindhearted and selfless person who holds great value in his friendships with others. He often prioritizes helping others over himself, a mindset born from feeling like a burden to the spirits that helped him survive the desert when he first awoke. Fen wants to get stronger so as to not have to rely on others so often and to help pay them back for any kindness they’ve shown him. His (unknowing) role as a spirit psychopomp causes him to be extremely empathetic to others, often reacting strongly to the emotions of others. This enables him to comfort the spirits and encourage them to finally pass on.
His amnesia and weeks of desert survival after waking up alone has left him deeply cautious, often flinching and curling inwards at sudden movements, expecting the harshness of the wild. As such, when shown physical kindness, he often melts into the touch. He is deeply curious about the world and others, and hungers to learn as much as he can in hopes that something will reignite his memories.
Fen is extremely near-sighted, with most of the world a blurry mosaic of colors beyond a few feet away. He has subconsciously learned to rely on his long ears and keen sense of smell. He often tilts his head to listen before moving, giving him a perpetually inquisitive, albeit hesitant, posture. Fen frequently bumps into stationary objects and pokemon.
Fen is also extremely quiet, speaking in a soft voice just barely above a whisper that is often difficult to hear, unhelped by his nervous stutter.
Strangely, though confirmed by Wisp that he is a ghost and failing to detect a heartbeat from Fen, his body seems to require nutrition as if he were still alive, and he breathes like any living creature would. It is as though Fen is stuck in a strange limbo between life and undeath. As such, his ordeal in the desert when he first awoke left him extremely malnutritioned and emaciated due to extreme difficulty finding food.
He has a habit of staying up late to talk to any wandering spirits of pokemon he may attract. He considers these spirits his friends, and they form a symbiotic relationship with each other. Fen holds the capability to listen to the voices of these spirits, often zoning out or tilting his head with an ear standing up as they speak to him.
Fen does not know how to use moves to defend himself, often suffering terrible blowback when he tries. As such the spirits provide Fen with protection, fiercely and savagely attacking anyone that would harm him, as well as knowledge of things they may remember from their own fragmented memories. According to these lingering spirits, Fen helps them finally pass on to rest, though he is unsure how he does so. He considers the process sad, but is ultimately happy to provide the comfort these ghosts need to reach their final destination.
While most spirits are temporary companions, three seem to have stuck around with the Quilava: Miss Dino (Tyrantrum), Miss Frog (Venusaur), and finally Mister Fox (Delphox). They are the most common will-o-wisps that float around and interact with Fen that other people might see. According to Fen, these three are able to become ‘more tangible’ when Fen is in danger and they are angered. These three spirits were the first that Fen met when he woke up, and are the ones that gave him his name. As they do not remember their own names, Fen wishes to repay their kindness and give them names back, but is currently having trouble coming up with ones that feel significant.
Relations to Other Characters:
- Fly - Friends! Barrelled into him when he first entered town and ended up play fighting with him and Raider. Gave him some much needed food. Is enamoured by her strength, boisterous personality, and encouragement.
- Raider - Friends! Thinks the fox’s antics and personality are fun. Considered the Saturday morning cartoon villain of their little game. Considers him very knowledgeable of Oasis
- Ignis - Friends! Thinks the large dragon is nice and cool. A little jealous of her ability to fly and easily control her fire powers. Hopes she may be able to help him learn how to use his moves
- Raoul - Friends! Enjoys his company since he is shy like Fen. Wants to get to know him better. Kind of mysterious about his memories
- Wisp - Friends! Was given much needed food and offered a room at the ghost manor. Is curious about him and wants to know more, especially what it means to be a ghost
