Overbooked by HumanFan31
After a long agonising eight-hour flight, sitting behind an entitled mother and her spoiled kicking child, this was just what you needed right now. Work-life was chaotic, with never-ending projects, short deadlines, and a supervisor who ruled like a dictator. This vacation to the beaches of the Caribbean was much needed, but it was already starting on a bad start before it even began.
“S-sorry?”
It turns out that after travelling thousands of miles, you didn't think twice about checking in with the resort you booked online, and now, apparently, your room is overbooked. Sure, you would have taken your chances facing off with the guy who booked the same room as you, but you wouldn't even attempt that when you saw his species.
Immediately, you were going to let him have the room, no questions asked, and you wouldn't have a black eye or, far worse, critical injury when you flew back home. But the T-rex in front of you had a different idea. That way, both of you can enjoy your vacations.
“Come on, I won't mind,” the massive T-rex replied with a little wave of his hand. His jaws opened slightly, revealing
rows of sharp, gleaming, formidable teeth in a grin. You knew he didn't mean for it to come off menacing, but all it did was make you feel much smaller than you already were. “I may be a big guy, but I'm sure there’s enough room for the both of us, boy!”
“N-No—I really shouldn't…” Still, you couldn't look him in the eyes. Uncontrollable, your body shook, and your heart felt like it was about to jump out of your chest. “…I really wouldn't want to be a disturbance…” The part of your brain that could still process thoughts heavily wondered if he could hear it, the fear throughout your body.
“Come on, you probably flew here, right?” the T-rex interjected, not taking what you thought was a reasonable answer to decline. Before you could say anything, the chubby T-rex had already easily grabbed your suitcase and his own as he walked towards the elevator. You had no other choice but to follow him.
“S-sir… I wouldn't want to be a bother…” you tried to reassure him again in vain as you caught up to him just as he pressed the button on the elevator. “R-really, I can find somewhere else to stay…”
As the elevator opened with a loud ding, the passengers inside quickly scattered at the sight of the T-rex. Nonchalantly, the large reptile was unfazed as he stepped in with a calm smirk. “Nonsense, boy,” he replied, pressing the elevator button. “I could use the new company; I'm recently divorced, you see…” His grin faltered slightly as you met his predator-like eyes for the first time.
“…Oh, I'm sorry to hear that…” You apologised. Things made a little more sense now, but still, did you want to stay with a stranger? You hesitated momentarily, watching as the metal doors began to close. There wasn't any point in upturning your vacation now, and your hard-earned money was already spent getting here. And besides, the T-rex still had your bags in his claws. Quickly, as the doors were about to close, you placed your arm between the small gap, causing the doors to open wide as you made your whim decision.
