Motorola Edge 30 Ultra / x30 Pro
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is Motorola's latest 2022 flagship device running on the Snapdragons 8+ Gen 1 chipset. While it shares its codename "eqs" with the chinese brother, the model number is XT2241-2. The chinese variant - Motorola x30 Pro - shares the same exact hardware and can be converted to the international model but has the model number XT2241-1, which can not be changed.

Rescue and Smart Assistant (LMSA)
This official software can be used to download the latest firmware and rescue soft bricked devices. It can not recover a hard brick.
Firmware Conversion
You can follow this guide on Rentry or on XDA to convert your phone from the chinese model into the international version. It is also possible to switch between other firmwares and change the software channel to receive OTA's. But PAY ATTENTION: This requires you to unlock the bootloader, which is irreversible and voids your warranty. You might also brick your device - be warned.

Manual Update
If you got an unlocked bootloader and OTA updates are not working for you, you will have to manually flash updates via fastboot.
Get your updated firmware from lolinet and extract it. Open the servicefile.xml and copy its content into this website.
Boot your device into fastboot. ("adb reboot bootloader" or by holding Power + Vol Down)
Open a cmd window in the extracted folder, copy paste the output from the website into the console and hit enter.
Make sure that all commands are run, this can take 5 - 10 minutes.
Your device should reboot and be on the new firmware.
Return to Stock
It is possible to return to your initial firmware and relock the Bootloader. Simply follow this guide.
Firmware Downloads
Firmware can be downloaded through the LMSA Tool or from lolinet. These guys have a whole lot of different localizations. Files are "only" saved for 5 years, so I'd suggest to keep a local backup of all versions for your localized firmware.
Root, Magisk, Safetynet
If your bootloader is unlocked you will most likely need Magisk to fix safetynet in order to get banking apps to work. Thankfully it's pretty easy to get magisk running on your device. Simply download the latest release, install the apk and patch the boot.img of your current firmware. Then flash it onto your device with "fastboot flash boot boot.img". More detailed documentation can be found on the internet.
Once you have magisk set up you need to install the "Universal SafetyNet Fix" module. Enable Zygisk, "enforce denylist" and add your banking app as well as Google Services and the PlayStore to your denylist in the settings. Precise tutorials can be found on the internet.

Motorola x30 Pro specific
In order to get the full Google Services running on the chinese firmware it is necessary to enable PlayServices in the settings and install the missing Google Contacts Sync service manually. It seems like Motorola forgot to ship the firmware with this service, so contacts can not be synced with your Google account without it. Simply follow the link to apkmirror and install the latest apk (arm64 or noarch) on your device.
