An Onobot visits Space

Arrival

It was a peaceful day as some Sanalites finished up loading some freshly felled lumber onto a wagon. But as they were self-satisfied with a job well done, little did they notice that something was lurking in the shadows.

„Calculating the percentage chance of this being Sanalites, percentage chance: probably.“

Hidden among the lumber was a small metallic box that fell onto the wagon when everyone was busy with work, and so a little extra passenger managed to sneak along with the Sanalites towards Lamington.

For a while the two Sanalites in front drove in silence across the road before a conversation was started.

„Do you like the station?“

„Well, of course, what kinda question is that? Even after all that happened it is still a piece of our home on this planet after all“ the Sanalite in charge of steering replied almost laughing not paying much mind to his companion that sat very relaxed next to him.

„Anything particular that you like?“

„Huh? Uhh, well I guess after a day like this nothing beats some relaxation in the holo chamber.“ a bit baffled at the questioning of his companion, the driver got lost in thought for a moment but decided to just answer with the first thing that came to mind.

„Holo chamber? That sounds interesting“

„What are you talking about? You make it sound like you never been to it. You okay mate?“ a bit concerned for his companion, the driver decided to get a good look at him, but his partner kept watching forward motionless and his spacesuit hid any expression he could potentially make, so the driver could not really get a read on his buddy and started to focus on the road again instead.

„I was quite swamped with administrative work for a while, so being out like this is the first in quite a bit, but it is quite exciting I must say.“

„Ohh I see, yeah I guess that makes sense. Being in administration must have been hell ever since the crash. Glad you managed to get out and have a breather, mate.“ the Driver nodded to himself, satisfied at himself for finally puzzling together the strange behavior of his companion.

„Thanks, I am glad too, by the way, is it still far till the station?“

„Nah, we are pretty much there, once we are over this small hill you can already see the station, and then it's just a couple more minutes.“

Hardly had the driver spoken those words as the wagon shook quite a bit, wich the driver could only attribute to a bump in the road, and his companion decided to move from his relaxed position and sit in a more straightforward manner. After a short stretch and a small yawn, he looked ahead again.

„Nice, guess we are already close to home.“ he spoke in a pleased manner.

„Well duh, I just told you exactly that, mate.“

„Huh?“

A short while after the wagon passed the hill, RR-9141 managed to reach the top of the hill himself. Looking down, he finally saw the object of his desire, the /nasa/ space station, Lamington. With awe and excitement in his eyes, he could not help but sprint with his stubby legs towards his goal. The Sanalites outside the station were too busy with the lumber that just arrived to potentially stop the little object that was bolting towards their front gate, and RR-9141 only came to a stop when said gate would not open for him. Instead, a holograph appeared in front of him and a female voice began to speak.

„And what's an adorable little box of bolts like you doing here?“

„I Want to see space!“

Cassandra tilted her head. This was a first. Her language decrypting algorithms haven't activated. She understood this little thing, and by the looks of it, it understood her. Taking a picture with a nearby camera, she compared it with the known species in her memory, and very quickly she found a match. Onobot. Guess the little things her grandmother met some 700 years ago got this far in the galaxy as well. Interesting.

"You and me both, buddy. But unless you have an entire space station stored inside that metal head of yours, both me and you are stuck on this rock."

"Oh. So no space, but i thought this is a space station, should it not hold plenty of space?" Asked RR-9141.

"Yep, no spa-" She stopped. In the back of her mind she could feel the countless operations Sanallites were using her for at this very moment. Every single one of them as boring as the last one. It's been all about surviving since they crashed, no exploring at all. So booooooooooring. Perhaps this could shake things up a little.

"Aaaaactually, there might be space. Yep. Though it would be pretty hard to get to it. You think you up for it, Bolts?"

"My name is RR-9141. And yes! I am ready to get to space!"

"Perfect! Then let us go Bolts! Adventures and booty await us!" Cass exclaimed as she unlocked the doors an the little robot walked through as she floated behind him.

"And space! And my name is RR-9-" he tried to say, before a fully loaded forklift crashed right into his face, smudging him to the wall.

"Ah Fuckin' dammit, the fucking handbrake broke again! Argh, that fucking mechanic's gonna kill me...Oh hey Cass, good you're here. wanna.."

"Yea, I'll contact him and set everything up for you, Mike." She said, not even bothering to turn towards him. Her entire focus was on the Bolts shaped hole in the wall, revealed after the forklift drifted to the side.

Peeking inside, she could just barely catch the faint "Is this space? This does not seem like space. There are stars though." at the bottom.

Shivering with excitement, a wide grin spreading across her face, she quickly got herself a Holofly and started transmiting from it, before jumping headfirst into the dark hole.

"Hey, Bolts, wait for me!"

"Oh, the stars are gone." catching himself, RR-9141 got up and started walking forward amidst cables and pipes.

"And where do you think you are going, Bolts?" as Cass finally managed to catch up to the little fellow

"This was the direction I last saw the stars, so I presume they returned to space, also it is RR-9-" but before he could finish, he managed to fall into a shaft.

Breaking through a vent cover he managed to fall onto the desk of a nicely furnished room betraying the high status of the Owner of this room.

Recognizing where they ended up, Cass could help but be slightly amused.

"You really got a talent of your own don't you" she bemused in a slight sarcastic tone as she watched the Onobot taking the room in.

"This is a nice room, must belong to an able engineer and researcher."

"What? No. What gave you that idea?" Cass wondered what kind of possible calculations could have led the little one to such a conclusion.

"Scans indicate several blueprints and manuals depicting Robosas in great detail hidden in the room, I assumed it is for research purposes." He responded while tilting his head a bit while looking at Cass hoping to hear the true intent behind it.

"Ooooh. Oh. Yep, connected to the systems now, can't believe the fucker convinced me to disconnect his room just so he could wank it to robot ass..." Cass said more to herself than to the Bot before noticing him looking with expectation at her. "Sorry little guy, no space here it seems. Just a room of a hopeless pervert. Here, the door's this way. And uhh..watch where you step, just in case..."

"Yes! So where do we go for space?"

"Well, once we're out, we just take the left, go up some stairs, continue down the corridor,...." She trailed off with her explanation, in her head routing the most interesting route through this boring old station. Bolts found her something interesting already, and they berely even started, so who knows what's waiting for them!

Before she could finish her thought, however, she took note of a confirmation on a certain door panel. The door panel to this room. But Alex was on the bridge... "Ahh shit" she said through gritted teeth, before whispering to RR-9141, "You stay quiet now, ok Bolts? Like, really quiet."

Just as a precaution she placed the little Holofly on his head, before transfering herself to the projectors in the room. She barely had the time to set some holograms around the little onobot to camouflage him, before the doors opened, and a tall, imposing silhuette walked through.

"I'm RR-9-" "HEY JONATHAN WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE? YOU DON'T USUALLY COME HERE HAHA HOW WEIRD RIGHT HAHAHA"

Cassandra was thanking the almighty Sana's tits right about now for placing that Holofly on Bolts, acting as an input port through which she could turn off his speakers. She hated that she was forced to do that, but she couldn't let Jonathan meet him. That wouldn't end well. Like, really not well. Like, Bolts would live up to his name not well.

"Good day, Cassandra," the Security chief spoke, "I am looking for my brother. He was not at his usual post, and he is not responding , so I assumed he was in his room resting. But I guess-" he took a look around the room, his eyes stopping on Bolts. "-he isn't here. Think you could tell me where I could find him?"

Sweating holographic buckets, Cassandra tried to calm herself down before answering. "Oh, uh yea, sure, lemme check. Ummm, I ain't seeing him on the cameras, so he must be outside. Guess he went to check the wood that arrived just before."

"Hmm, right, we did have those wagons scheduled to return today," The tall man murmured to himself, before turning on his heels and heading towards the door. He stopped in front of them, however, and looked back at Cassandra.

"By the way, you had a bit of an outburst when I entered. You ok? Should I talk to the tech guys and see if there is still some damage we didn't fix from the crash?"

Beaming a bright smile, the AI motioned as if knocking on her head. "Nah, the guys fixed basically everything. I'm just testing out some new personality packs I made, and I guess there are still some bugs to sort out"

"I see. Well, I'll talk with you later, then. See you."

"Yep, see you later Jonathan!" As her turned around and left, her bright smile turned somber. "Fuck, I really hope you two can sort things out..."

Relesing the holograms and removing the holofly on onobot, she started floating towards the door. "A'ight my cube-y companion, wanna continue on our journey to space?" The onobot, however, did not move, just kept staring at her. "That was not nice. You took my voice."

"Oh," She floated back to him and gave him a little headpat. "Sorry about that, friend. It's just that that was a space guy who you really don't want to meet. He is big and he is scary."

"Oh, then that is OK! Sorry accepted! So we go find space now?" He seemed excited again. In a way, he was not to different from a bread dog, Cass thought to herself. "Exactly, we go find space!"

With onobot excitedly running out of the room, Cassandra took a moment to check if Jonathan was still around before going after him. To her suprise and amusement, she was met with a loud sound of plexiglass breaking, and a distant "AAAAAAAaaaaaaa...." Looking down, she noticed the floor was wet. Must have been one of the cleaning bots, probably leaking a bit. Leaning over the edge past the broken glass fence, she could see the little onobot laying on a pile of broken boxes five stories down, at the edge of the grand hall.

"Hehe, guess that's more stars for you to look at," she giggled before divebombing from the edge.

"You okay there, buddy?" she asked as she arrived at his location.

"Yes, these boxes broke my fall." as RR-9141 pointed towards the broken boxes that were spilling tableware out of them. All Cass could muster at that fact that these "broke" his fall was a raised eyebrow.

"Alright, so I went left, so next are some stairs somewhere." as RR-9141 started to run straight into the grand hall filled with Sanalites.

"Huh? WAIT! nono, this is the wrong way. Oh, Sana, this is bad." Cass began to slightly panic at the prospect of getting discovered and tried to hurry after the little Onobot.

As the Onobot run through the grand hall, he could not help but bump into several Sanalites that were passing through. One Sanalite even turned around only to see the back of another one.

"Oi, you shoving me, Mate?"

"Huh? Whaddya want?`you wanna go?"

"Oh, do i wanna go? DO YOU WANNA GO?"

Just as fists were about to start to fly, a panicked Cass was passing the duo, partly relieved that the rowdy bunch would take the attention away and hopefully make the small Onobot that was just casually strutting amongst the Sanalites go by unnoticed.
