Vitkine's is a mining and jewelry company specialised in the procurement and cutting of various gemstones and other precious material. Originally based in /meat/, it has since expanded to other countries like /risu/ to procure different sources of gemstones. Currently, in addition to Atoyavik and other major settlements of /meat/, it has also begun operation in Panrong and Ceres in /risu/.

History

Vitkine's is founded by Cyrille Vitkine, an emigrant from /yeah/ to /meat/. Believed to be particularly peckish for human flesh even by Kosakan standard, Cyrille was said to have moved to /meat/ in search for better cuisine away from scrutinising eyes. In addition to personal belongings, the Vitkine family also brought along with them an assortment of gemstones and precious metal, utilising their high value to their size and weight as a means to transfer their wealth with ease and discretion.

Most of Cyrille's wealth was invested into purchasing land and mining rights in rural areas of /meat/land. The reason for the emphasis on mining was unknown - Laetitia later claimed it as part of the family tradition for the aesthetics, although some also believed it was to reduce the chance of having a failing business due to differing climate between /yeah/ and /meat/. Regardless, Cyrille's business proved to be a success, soon becoming a major supplier of precious stones to /meat/heads and visitors alike.

Following Cyrille's retirement, the operation of the company was handed to Laetitia, who has been its owner and head manager ever since. In addition to maintaining a friendly relationship with the ruling clergy, Laetitia also expanded her business towards foreigners, specialising in gemstones not considered as valuable by /meat/heads to profit from the difference in perceived value.
