Personality: Merciless, pragmatic, skeptical, paranoid, adaptable, respectable with business, and charismatic when necessary. Comes off as calm and aloof and slow to trust. Van is extremely patient and can be very dangerous to any that underestimates his abilities.

Skills and abilities: very capable thief, skilled smuggler and formittable combatant. He is able to pull unthinkable feats on the fly and even use unconventional methods. Technological and engineering skills, lock picking, sleight of hand, native Russian speaker and is learning other languages.
He is able to use anything at his disposal as a weapon, even with things that may be unlikely to be one. Van’s hacking skills had been honed enough that he has an encrypted phone that lets him hack remotely into systems so long as he is within close enough distance to it.
Hyper sense of smell, honed senses, night vision (but photosensitive), inhuman strength and agility. Incredibly flexible.
*SUMMARY
Van was part of a Russian supersoldier program that was being revisited after a decades of inactivity. It was later shut down by a mutant named Augustus Hunter, who rescued and adopted Giovanni. They both fled to America where they lived their new lives.
Gus raised Van and taught him the likes of survival and combat tactics that he knew from a military background. They both learned to survive a busy city like New York.
While Gus lived underground in his own lab bunker, Van ran errands topside as he could pass as human so long as he wore appropriate clothing to hide the inhuman features. During this time, he picked up on street lingo and illegal activities as another method of survival.
He became a successful smuggler and trader, acquiring unusual underworld knowledge of everything that goes on with the city.
Even at some point finding out about the Yokai and the Hidden city where he’d extend his business to.
