Damus Orfèvre is the resourceful assistant of Magnus Creux, an acclaimed alchemist he took a deep interest in. His knowledge about precious minerals like gold is crucial for Magnus's studies like Khemia.

While Damus appears friendly and surprisngly boring on the outside, he used to have ties to Charlatan, a major antagonistic faction of the vampire kind. He doesn't reveal this secret to Magnus in order to protect him from actually getting infected with a malady. He hopes one day his superior will give up his studies and finally understand how futile his ambitions were. Damus also dreams of moving away to a beautiful cottage in a small village with Magnus and spend the rest of their life there.
