getting a lot of "blazblue" vibes from this

blazblue is a fighting game series originating in 2008, created by toshimichi mori under arc system works' production.

the main series (also known as the c-series) has 4 games: calamity trigger, continuum shift, chronophantasma and central fiction.

the blazblue franchise has many other spinoffs and adaptations such as anime, mangas, stage plays, and much more!

this rentry is made for me to rant about blazblue in every facet of the word, it's pretty much a virtual diary regarding my love of the series. it's going to be very scattered!!

i do love the gameplay, but i can't say i'm the best at fighting games, especially compared to other dedicated blazblue fans... so i'm mainly lore focused!!

my favorites

ragna is my main and also favorite character. thank you for creating a guy so amazing i can love him in every sense of the word

ragna glaze section

i love ragna the bloodedge. he's genuinely my all-time favorite video game protagonist, and one of my favorite characters ever.

to me, ragna's character represents resillence. he's able to survive, but also learn to thrive. he's able to learn new reasons to fight, and learn to move on from the things that broke him.

ragna goes from selfishness, only really working for himself and what he thought was right, to being the most selfless in the story. his passion for the people around him really is the definition of a "hero", even without everything he does for the world around him!

he's great in comedic sitations too! he's a really good straightman to pretty much every other character, although he can even be funny on his own!

ragna's personality is incredibly charming to me, and i think he's absolutely adorable. he's not only heroic, and selfless, but he's also a complete dork. he's a loser in his own right and it just makes him all the more loveable.

his design is so fucking good. like, actually. i unfortunately am not immune to guys with white hair and red as a key color, so it's not a surprise i like him... but even beyond that! his silouette is so good, i love the layering as well as the acessories in his outfit.

i'm currently working on a ragna cosplay which honestly makes me appreciate ragna's design all the more... wow. it's actually so well thought out!!

all in all, ragna is one of the most interesting, captivating, and heartwarming characters i've had the pleasure of loving! i'll probably add more to this rant later, but for now thank you for reading my little ragna yap <3

I WISH THAT BLAZBLUE LIVE ACT WAS ANYWHERE ONLINE. i'm so upset that it was produced back when 2.5d stages didn't get proshots or dvds super often...

my absolute dream is to somehow go back in time and go watch the live acts while they were going on... how i'd kill to see them. the true lost media of the blazblue series...

what the fuck is wrong with this dude. like. genuinely. a lot of blazblue gag reels fail to make me laugh but this one is just so fucking funny to me. the way that somehow none of them feel out of character despite the complete shift in scenery is so good...

i love ragna and terumi as a (platonic) pairing and obviously while in canon they can't be buddies, it's so fun to see them just be reluctant bros in an alternate universe.

the idea of terumi being that one unemployed friend who drags ragna around to do stupid shit is so funny to me...

also terumi utatie? hello??? i need to see those videos stat!!! i'm just imagining him doing little dance+song covers of jpop songs and its making me giggle

also this is so minor but i love tsubaki's role in it a lot, even if she's super irrelavant. i thought she was so cute! "we'll start our own band now" PLEAAASE can we get a tsubaki band gag reel?!?!? please!!
