‎ ⑅ ‎ on today's yap session; are seals overrated or do they deserve to be known?

yes it sounds stupid, but its actually something that bothers me sometimes. when people call seals overrated "give attention to other animals" but they're not talking about other animals themselves, seal are cute and have done no wrong ever so honestly i dont get why people get upset or even mad about them becoming popular, its a hundred times better for something cute like seals to become popular than dolphins. yes i have a beef with dolphins i do not trust a single dolphin and i do not enjoy them, on the contrary i hold dislike towards them and do not even find them cute, a clown fish is a hundred times cuter than dolphins. but back on the topic of seals, it is actually good that seals become popular because people can learn new things about a cute species that they may enjoy! i also believe that sealtwt has several problems within themselves, such as not crediting photographs or sharing from photographers who do not allow reposting their work, i feel like many people tend to treat photography as 'not-a-job' when it literally is one, a important one, without the photographers you wouldn't have your cute silly seal photos, they're the ones doing the job for you at least have the minimum consideration for them & follow their TOS. see, now i, could never work as a photographer, the millisecond someone repost my seal photo i would delete my whole account and give up on my job. which i think this also relates to the rentry community, but ill talk about it somewhere else, because, this is a seal centered rentry!

'fake seal fans' are mostly the people who only see the photos and don't even knowledge who the seal in the said photo is, this is a thing on sealtwt but, honestly? in my opinion people can enjoy a cute thing like a seal without going deep into it, that's completely fine and seals will still get the appreciation they completely deserve, and i find it really useless to get mad at people who aren't sure what seal is the photo of. also, since i talked about reposted seal photos, i also wanna talk about how sealtwt has a crediting problem. a big part of sealtwt do not credit their photos, this is as big of a problem as reposting from photographers who do not allow repost, as i said it is a job and deserves credit for it or you wouldnt have your precious cute photos at all! some people even get mad when told to credit their photos, which its completely ridiculous in my eyes.
