Blaster Master 1-2 lore primer

Pre-BMZ 1 lore:

Jason is a young man (early 20s) who is really good at robotics. He's also really good at piloting the robots he create, which led him to win many of the contests he participated in. He's a cool and collected guy, but his curiosity is like a child's. One day, he stumbled upon a frog-like creature he named Fred. One day, Fred escaped. Jason chased after Fred, which led him to a cave where he found a Metal Attacker called SOPHIA-III, along side an old-looking residential area. After looking through the residential area, Jason found Eve, someone with missing memory and knowledge about how SOPHIA-III works.

BMZ 1 lore:

On the search for Fred, Jason and Eve discover that her and Fred were sent from a planet called "Sophia" to fight "Mutants", a form of alien parasite, and that they're planning to take on earth. Jason fights through his way through a ton of Mutants, trying to find the Mutant Lord and kill it. Once the Mutant Lord killed, Eve realises that there is still a much more powerful, Mutant Core that needs to be destroyed. Eve, who doesn't want to put Jason in more danger, puts Jason unconcious and takes SOPHIA-III to try to destroy the Mutant Core. She fails, and the Mutant Core takes over SOPHIA-III and when Eve tries to activate SOPHIA-III's self destruct function, she the controls are unresponsive. In the meantime, Jason has arrived to Eve's location, and successfully removed her from the now Invem SOPHIA-III. The Invem SOPHIA is now moving on its own, trying to kill both Eve and Jason Frudnick. Jason successfully destroys SOPHIA-III, unaware that Eve is now infected too.

Post BMZ 1 lore:

The earth is saved, and Jason, Fred, and Sophia found another Metal Attacker named G-SOPHIA. All of Jason, Fred and Eve then go on to try to destroy the Mutant Core. Sadly, Eve's infection only grows, and she is now half infected. Jason hurries to find both a cure, and a way to defeat the Mutant Core.

BMZ 2 lore:

Jason fights through another wave of Mutants, this time across multiple planets. They then meet a lot of people on these planets, providing upgrades and support through their journey. They meet a non-mutant antagonist, Leibniz. Leibniz is also using a Metal Attacker, and they speak in very enigmatic language aiming to the fact that they couldn't save their planet or their significant other. Jason, Eve and Fred then try to defeat a Mutant known as Planade-G, the Mutant being an entire planet. Once defeated, Jason is once again separated from Eve, who's parasite was always growing stronger. Once inside of Planade-G, Eve's infection turned into Superpowers of some sort. After a lot of traveling, Eve finally destroys Planade-G with the help of the friends they met earlier on in their adventure. Eve and Jason sadly stay separated, as Eve got captured by some people on Sophia (the planet).
