animal related triggers: no animals are abused unless you count the rats put in ribcages at the end.
rat kings are also a recurring theme.
somebody's dog dies, although it is not a major character.
a major character's cat died when he was like 14 and it's mentioned once.
there are bugs, like, a lot of them. this book is about graverobbing there's going to be bugs.

abandonment related: a major plot theme is the fact that joey doesn't know his dad because of a presumed abandonment, although that's not actually what happened. abandonment is also just a major theme in general in the book.
joey just can't stop being abandoned (also by his best friend)
joey also just can't stop abandoning people.

abuse: joey is neglected when he first gets to bloughton, although it's not really harnett's fault.
joey is also bullied both verbally and physically by a teacher and this is a constant.
valerie crouch is abused post-mortem at one point, although we do not get any real descriptions of the actions done, and it is by a villain.

addiction: the main villain is a serial drug user, and his use is described in detail. digging is also treated as an addiction type thing.

assault: somebody is a survivor of csa, however this is only mentioned once in passing.
valerie crouch is heavily implied to have been sexually assaulted post-mortem.
joey is the victim of severe bullying, including physical altercations. this is a constant.

bodily harm: joey loses three fingers and gets injured consistently throughout the book.
someone self harms many times in various ways, and he loses an eye at one point.
someone is buried alive.
someone drowns.
someone is impaled.

death: multiple major characters die. death is a major theme. this is a book about graverobbing.

disability: the r slur is used, however other than that, this book is incredibly positive towards disabled people. most of the diggers are disabled.

family: family members die.

fear: this is a horror novel.
a house burns down.
no trypophobia, clowns, possessions, ghosts, razors, or mannequins.

gross: somebody vomits.
no cannibalism.
the corpse descriptions are probably gross, and most of the main characters go extensive periods without showering.

LGBTQ+: a queer person is outed and almost bullied for it. that character also uses words like fag and gay as an insult but i don't think that's a massive deal.

mental health: joey most likely has ptsd.
a mentally ill character (the main villain) is violent.
joey has dissociation in some periods of the book.

pregnancy: a pregnant character is injured.

prejudice: there are homophobic jokes, however they are all made by the gay character.
there are multiple fat jokes.

religious: this book is chock full of religious symbolism and metaphors.
a major character is a priest, and someone's parents owned a church (although this is only mentioned in passing)

sex: the only mentions of sex have been talked about already.

sexism: most of the female characters are incredibly two dimensional, and the narration is a little bit weird about women.
joey says that he feels like boys should not cry at the beginning of the book, but this is a one off, and he does cry multiple times later.

social: two characters end up being homeless.

violence: there is described gore.
