Minnie looked up. Eunhyuk sat opposite her, arms folded, expression weary. Embarrassed, she dipped her head apologetically and tossed her phone to the side without a backward glance. "Nothing. Just some drama between Max and some Japanese hooligan."
"The Viet." Eunhyuk twisted his lips and tipped back another shotglass of soju. They were sitting together in his well-furnished apartment. He'd cooked her dinner. Not too well, but it was the thought that counted. "Didn't she get beaten by that flashy punk and his green dragon? One win, one loss." His lip curled. "I don't think I like these male classmates of yours too well."
"Myoga's decent," Minnie said defensively.
"I'm sure he has a heart of gold." Eunhyuk shook his head. "That's what they all say." He raised his voice to make himself sound like a girl. "You don't know him like I do. If it had been my girlfriend in that arena..." He trailed off.
"Who are you talking about?" Minnie said flatly. "Myoga or Bobby? Because his bout was just before mine."
"Samson." Eunhyuk poured out another shot for himself and tipped it back. He met her gaze. "Mark my words, Jimin. If he's still friends with that Owari maniac after what he did to you, that's a red flag. Run far, far away."
"I'm not going to litigate this again with you."
Eunhyuk sighed, looking away. "Do you know how expensive Shiketsu is? Our parents don't often complain, but if you knew just how much they were forking out for you -"
Minnie stood up. "Thank you for dinner," she said, her voice sounding curiously remote, "but I think I'd like to go home now."

"The thing. You know." Junmyeon squeezed an invisible stress-ball, and Faith understood. Reaching into her bag, she withdrew a fist-sized egg plushie wearing a domino mask. The English alphabet 'S' was emblazoned on its chest, and about half of its body was covered in orange felt. It also had a little orange cape. She squeezed it, and it emitted a loud squeak.
Junmyeon raised his voice. "You heard the intern. Lunch?"
Faith stared at him, aghast. She looked down at her screen and typed out a quick, furious message. So you're making this my fault?
Serves you right for talking to your boyfriend during office hours, Junmyeon typed back. Then he said, at a normal volume: "I was thinking Italian today. Any objections?"
