armand is a character in the vampire chronicles series, by anne rice. originally a book series, armand plays a main role in the story. armand serves as both an antagonist both protagonist in the series. armand is one of the older vampires in every adaptation of the series. in the books, his birth year is ≈1480; in the show, it is 1508. armand in the books is slavic, being from what is roughly modern-day ukraine. in the show, he is from delhi, india. in the books he is a devout catholic. however, the shows adaptation of him is muslim. the actor for him in the show is muslim as well!

why do you love him?
i love armand because of his complex backstory and how it influences his character now. for example, armand is a victim of csa and abuse; armand in turn becomes a natural seductor, and he is prone to violent apathy. despite his flaws, his soft and loving heart can be seen through his love and selflessness. in the books, armand saves 2 children from an abusive home and raises them as his own. armand is a generous lover and gives his all to his partners. he is a very vulnerable soul!
