She clutched it, like a sack of meat bought from the grocery. She could not feel it's tiny breaths against her chest.
She had awoken, her lover by her side on the bed sleeping soundly, she plants a kiss on his stubby face. She stood up and walked over where the little one laid. She picked her up.
She did not feel any life from it.
At first she thought it was a dream. She rocked it, calling out her name
She screams out, running towards the bedroom.
She cries out imploring him to wake up. Her heart freezes in her chest when she sees the gaping hole in his face.
She wakes up, mind racing with horrid thoughts. She was drenched in sweat. She bolts out of bed, running mad towards the baby's room.
She stops at the doorframe, quiet now. She sees him, holding their daughter in his arms, kissing her, loving her.
She sees him smile, giving her a wave.
"Hey it's kinda early for you to be up , she was crying a bit and you were knocked out," Kronii just stares at him, stares at her.
She breaks down, tears falling down to the floor.
He's by her side, the baby cries in sync with the mother.
He comforts her, asking her what's wrong.
She could not answer.
She could not live without them.
