The human, beaten and bruised, runs for his life, as the sound of heavy footsteps thundering behind him
He turns a corner and runs face first into a wall.
quickly he turns and tries to run back, but stops when he sees his pursuer
A monster clad in a black suit of armor with a ghastly face forged into its helmet.
"End of the line. Time to die." Says the monster, its hulking armored figure towering over the human.
Frantically the human looks around, searching for any way out, and findning nothing as the monster backs him further into a corner.
"Undyne's probably gonna be mad she didn't get to take a crack at you, but that's what she gets for not answering her phone. Besides, I'm sure she'll have plenty of humans to fight on the surface." The monster says in a low, menacing tone.
The monster raises his hand in the air. A glowing blue axe materializes in his palm.
The human closes his eyes in anticipation of the killing blow.
"Picking on a defenseless child? I expected better from a member of the royal guard." Says a voice which echoes through the ravine.
"Huh?" says the monster, looking for the source of the voice, yet finding nothing.
The human, however, finds it.
A dark figure standing on the cliff face high above them.
The human's heart leaps as he sees a chance at salvation
But who is the mysterious savior
The figure leaps from his perch and lands in the ravine, directly behind the royal guard
His heart sinks the instant he sees who his savior is
"Over here, you retard." Says the fox.
Instantly they royal guard whips around to face the interloper
"Buzz off! I Found him first. His soul is mine!" He barks at the fox.
The fox smirks "The human is the least of your concerns."
He strikes a pose, pointing a thumb at himself. "My name is Zhao Shuhan, and I'll be your opponent now."
"Am I supposed to know who you are?" The armored monster asks.
"You will soon, if you don't back off."
"Alright, I guess I can make time to teach n idiot a lesson about running his mouth." The guard turns to the human "Don't go anywhere, I'll be with you in a minute." He says turning back to Shu and taking up a defensive stance.
She goes first, lunging forward and swinging his staff at the guard's knees
It plinks harmlessly off his sabotan
In response the guard brings his axe down, backside first, and Shu narrowly dodges to the side
Shu follows up a pair of strikes to the guard's arm, again doing little if any damage
The guard swings his axe wide, trying to strike Shu witht the flat, but the fox narrowly ducks under it
Shu's duck transforms into a roll as the guard tries to bring his axe down as a follow up attack
Shu rolls between his, springs up, and launches into a barrage of staff strikes, dozens of strikes hitting all over the guard's body
Shu continues attacking, hitting the guard at least a dozen more times
Then jumps away from the guard and does a somersalt (which he barely lands) to gain some ground
"Heh, that tickled. Maybe if you keep it up I'll be laughing too hard to be able to defend myself." The guard in a sardonic tone
"Nanto Shuken secret technique, hundred strike staff attack, delayed hand of death. You're already dead."
"Huh?"
Suddenly the guard's armor began to shake and the delayed strike hit
He jolted as he took the damage
-2 HP
They both looked up at his health bar. It was fully green, save for a single pixel wide sliver of red
Shu's mouth hung open, a look of utter horror on his face
'B-but that was my strongest attack.' he thought to himself
"Wait a minute. I think I do recognize you. That red toothpick of a weapon, that stupid outfit, that look on your face. You're that idiot who tripped over his shoe laces at the tryouts."
Shu's eyes widened as his heart sank.
"It is you! Hah hah haah! Talk about a blast from the past. You know, after all these years, me and the guys still get a kick out of telling people the story."
Shu was in shock, he didn't know how to respond
"Oh what's the matter? Did you forget how to tie your shoes again? Are you gonna cry? Need a tissue?"
Shu couldn't believe it, all these years, all this training, only for it to happen again
It isn't fair. Why does this always happen.
"HAH HAH HAH! The guys are never gonna believe this, I need to get a picture." The guard began going through his pockets in search of his phone
And there he is, laughing just like before
Shu's grip around his staff tightened
"AAAAAH!" Shu screamed, his eyes full of tears as he charged the guard. No thought, no technique, no showy stances or bravado.
He lifted his staff high above his head and swung it down as hard as he could
His enemy was caught off guard, barely managing to drop his phone and lift his arm before the strike hit
and hit it did
The red bow struck his helmet with a ear shattering clang, sinking deep into it, causing it to buckle
The staff continued to sink into the helmet, deforming it like a spoon mashing a stick of butter until...
CRACK!
The staff snapped in two
Half of it flew off in an unknown direction while the other half remained in Shu's hands
-80HP
The guard took a couple clumsy steps backwards before unceremonious falling face first on the ground
'Did... did I do it?'
'I did it! I won!'
Shu's face shifted to a grin of pure joy
'Years and years of training and I finally won!'
'But what else did you expect really! I'm Shu, the master of the invincible assasination art. Of course I won.'
Shu took up a photogenic pose, puffing out his

chest proudly

"Next time you'll think twice about challenging the invincible Zhao Shu-" His monologue was cut short by a small movement from his fallen opponent
The opponent moved again and then rose to his feet
He now towered over Shu, a massive dent in his helmet, and his rage visible even through his visor
"Oh no." was all Shu managed to say before he was clocked in the face by the guard
He was sent reeling, and was quickly hit by a follow up punch
What followed was an absolute savage beating as the guard knocked him around with a series of punches after punches. Left, right, up, down, forward, backward. Shu was being juggled by his pummeling
"YOU! DIRTY! LITTLE! SON OF A-" The guard barked out between punches. Shu couldn't catch the last part, likely due to punch induced delirium.
At last the guard struck him with one final haymaker, sending him hurtling to the floor.
"There, now try to remember that the next time you think you're tough!" The guard said venomously
He let out a heavy sigh, "Now, where were we?" He said turning back to the human.
Or to where the human was.
Frantically he looked around until he caught a fleeting glimpse of the human turning a corner which led towards the ravine's exit
"You get back here!" He shouted, breaking into a sprint after him
Now Shu was left alone.
Somehow, despite that savage beating, he was still at 20HP, though he was still too dizzy to stand
He managed to lift himself up on his knees
"Yeah. You better run."
