i wanted to decorate this with circe because she so fits this url name but we don't have a circe introject as far as i'm aware so i'll just spill some words on her on her like how i did on /seadiver. i think she is often misunderstood and taken at very shallow face value which causes people to have a bad impression on her that she lowkey does not deserve, at least fully. she was admittedly trying to seduce odysseus but she didn't pressure him further when he started wailing on about his wife. i think that she took back her initial bloodlust and decided to take the intiative instead to help because he turned away to chance instead of indulging in lust. he proved her wrong and did not act like the men she's encountered in her life. namely, the ones that have made her so very hostile towards males in general. it amazes me sometimes how people don't pick up on clear cues unless it is directly stated towards them. i felt it was obvious they'd taken advantage of circe's kindness and assaulted her women and now she is lashing out at anyone as a protective measure which most certainly reflects in real life. i will admit that her sending odysseus and his (remaining) crew to the underworld for tiresias still makes little sense to me. it seemed that tiresias didn't do much but further traumatize the fuck out of odysseus and then send him on his merry way questioning if anything he had done had actually paved a way for his future. there is something amusing about it but still... i will say i love the idea of her holding that dagger behind her back as she tries to woo him into giving in, specifically depicted by gigi who has one of the most beautifully sensual circe designs.
