Description of the Kosakan Nomads

Originating from the steppe to the north west of /yeah/, the Kosakan Nomads live on the fringe borderlands of the Commonwealth. They are few in numbers, and not much is known about them. Having previously been a nomadic peoples, they are skilled horse riders, often being used as light cavalry in the army. They are known to worship a deity known as The Keeper of Luck, who, according to stories passed down through oral tradition, have rescued them from misfortune several times, manifesting itself as a white, nine-tailed fox. Because of the connection between their deity and foxes, foxes are considered animals of religious importance, and are regularly groomed and cared for, with older foxes undergoing a ritualistic sacrifice to prevent them from suffering of old age, and to be able to collect their fur. They wear thick fur coats made from the hides of elderly foxes to protect them from the cold of their environment, with the same coats being made for their horses as well. They live in communal tents made of leather, wherein they sleep and eat together. They also have containers of wine and honey, used for both consumption and religious rituals. They will often trade their furs and whatever products they have on hand for these two items.
