this is a space i've created on rentry in order to spread resources/fact checked information on antisemitism and israel/palestine since those two are often conflated with each other. to avoid harassment, the owner won't be revealing their socials/identifying info, however their ethnic identity does connect to this topic.

why create this?:
i was partially inspired by the rise of antisemitism over the past several years and also due to the url's previous holder using it to spread their hateful beliefs. (tldr they are a self-proclaimed radical zionist from israel who is trying to join the idf in order to support their government in killing palestinians since "peace is not an option". this was listed alongside various other vitriolic things about various minority groups that's too long for me to list out. it's disturbing). of course this wasn't and isn't the only one. there are various other other urls created by zionists to spread propaganda about how arabs need to be eradicated due to the actions of non-representable extremists (or just blatant misinformation that's sourced from neonazi groups or early 2000s war on terror propaganda). the dehumanization and need to exterminate a group of people is fucked up to say the least and i'm not sure why it's allowed on this website since the sharing of extremist beliefs only encourages more fascists down their footsteps. look at 4-chan for example.

what's even more disappointing to me is that whenever some people encounter crazy zionists online, their first response is to be antisemitic. grouping all jewish people under the same umbrella the same way these fascists do the arabs. questioning every jewish person they see for their opinions on palestinians or straight up calling them zionists just for existing. even worse, whenever pro-palestinian israelis do try to revolt against their government, they're still met with hate by these people who claim to be "pro-palestinian". stuff like that simply isn't productive and hurts the movement, rather than helping it. crucifying innocent jewish people isn't going to help palestinians. which is why, i wanted to create a space to educate/share links to help those in need rather than be another space on the internet to spread hate.

what is antisemitism?:
Antisemitism is officially defined as the hostility, predjudice, and discrimination of Jewish people. While the Semites (the word's origin) are made up of everyone in the Middle East, antisemitism has primarily been used to describe the oppression of Jewish people in particular.

antisemitism can come in many forms. there is the obvious, using antisemitic slurs and nazi propaganda/dogwhistles such as the swatsika. however, there are also various conspiracy theories that talk about how "Jewish people secretly control the world/banks". while this is well known, whenever people talk about AIPAC's influence on US politics, they often accidentally or intentionally cross over into using antisemitic dogwhistles such as saying "zionist occupied government/ZOG" which is an antisemitic saying commonly used by neonazis before the Palestinian genocide became popular among the masses. people who use this saying primarily use it to talk about how Jewish people have taken over the government, rather than it being a criticism of Israel's government. neonazis don't care about the genocide in Palestine. For them, this tragedy is another tool for them to subtly spread their antisemitic beliefs to people. if it was up to them, both Palestinians and Israelis would be dead.

whenever you see people online talking about antizionism, be sure to analyze their language/post history. do they hate zionism due to its connection with genocidal ideologies or are they themselves fascists who are piggybacking off of a movement meant to help those in need to spread their hatred? always be critical and shut down that nazi shit immediately.

Saying "free Palestine" to random Jewish people you find online is antisemitism. Not every Jewish person is Israeli or agrees with their actions. They don't have any control over Israel's actions.

Accusing random Jewish people of being zionists or calling them genocidal with no proof outside of their ethnic/religious identity is also antisemitism. You're just assigning negative stereotypes/labels to them just because they're Jewish. It's fucked up and stupid, don't throw around heavy terms like that, you're just watering down their meanings.

what about if you're anti Israel/antizionist?:
Criticizing Israel's actions isn't antisemitic as long as you're not conflating it to being Jewish. Not every Jewish person lives in Israel. A lot of Jewish people don't have any bearings on what Israel or what its government/people are doing. it's the same way we don't group/blame every Arab for everything extremist Muslim terrorists have done.

Calling what Israel/its government/the IDF is doing against Palestinians a genocide also isn't antisemitic. Many human rights organizations across the world including the United Nations themselves officially classify it as a genocide and that the IDF is committing heinous war crimes on the regular. Unfortunately due to the fucked up nature of International Law, no serious action can be taken against them unless a government decides to intervene.

This isn't something that's simply made up, many former/current IDF soldiers have confessed to the war crimes they've committed, including recording themselves doing it or even bragging about it on social media. (cw for below article its very disturbing).

Wanting Palestinians to have their land back isn't antisemitic. Regardless of "who was there first", the action of kicking people out of a land they were living on so that you can take their homes instead is by definition colonization. This isn't something that happened once in the past, it has happened several times over the course of Israel's existence and continues to occur to this day. Not just in Palestine but in Syria as well, specifically the Golan Heights, taking advantage of Assad's fall to expand towards the buffer zone.

Palestinians are people who deserve to have as much land/human rights/homes/opportunities as Israelis do. Zionism as defined by wikipedia itself relies on ethnic nationalism and spreading Israel's land so that there are as few Palestinian Arabs as possible. Even if someone wants to make the argument that at one point it was defined by allowing Jewish people a land for themselves. The point is that CURRENTLY, it's an extremist ideology where this land can only be "achieved" by kicking people out from their homes. Not to mention that ethnonationialism is inherently a right wing ideology. No one is entitled towards having land "all to themselves with no outsiders". NO ONE. Not Russia, not South Africa, not any Middle Eastern countries. NO ONE. Especially if that land comes at the cost of innocent lives. Believing that and opposing ethnonationalists isn't antisemitism.

wearing a kuffiyeh, using watermelon symbols, or saying "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free" (as long as it's not targetted towards random Jewish people you see) also aren't antisemitic. these are all symbols used to either express their culture or resistance at attempts of being exterminated and desire to be freed from oppression. so many virtue signallers online have tried to frame these as antisemitic because they believe Palestinians shouldn't be allowed to express their culture and that they should silently die out.
